Really one of the best independent bookstores we've been to. There's a tremendous amount of effort on part of the staff to read their offerings, than place handwritten recommendation tags next to the books they've enjoyed best throughout the store. There's also a fun "blind date with a book" selection, where for a cash donation to the local library, you'll receive a book wrapped up with only the genre listed. We almost always bump into Mike when we come, and he's just a phenomenal employee that's more interested in building relationships with his customers than just selling them books. While the prices here are certainly higher than online retailers like Amazon, there's no substitute for good person-to-person customer service, and the ability to browse a physical shelf of new offerings. Staff was extremely helpful in looking for books on a fairly obscure topic for me. One definitely went above and beyond by calling her sister to get recommendations for where I could look for what I need, once we'd exhausted all resources in-store! I then had an amazingly relaxing evening sitting in the cafe, enjoying coffee, a glass of wine, an energy drink, and a perfectly lovely dinner of avocado toast with tomato and a cheese plate. Staff in the cafe were just as helpful, and everyone across the board was friendly and welcoming. Just the right amount of checking in without being bothersome. The only unfortunate thing I have to say about this lovely store is that we don't live there and only visit once a year. But it is always our first stop to stock up for our visit. So well curated, my husband always says even though it's smaller than a big store we find more stuff we want. All the personal recommendation notes posted everywhere is the exact reason to to support the local book store. And the last time we were there a really amazing young man named Mason was working and he was awesome. Engaged with everyone, multi-tasking, super friendly and knowledgeable.
