If you are in need of Propane and your tank isn't completely empty, keep driving. Here's the scoop. There are 2 ways propane is sold. By the pound, or by the gallon. These yahoo's do nether. If you bring in a 30 lb tank, they charge you for a 30 lb tank. Period. But wait it gets better! I know for a fact, one tank was empty, and the other was around 1/4 full. But since I was going in, I'd fill them both. You guessed it, they charged for 2, 30 lb tanks. They have no idea if you got 3 lbs of propane or 30 pounds. But they charge you for 30 lbs. Apparently math is not a strong subject here in Colby. So folks, they are stealing from every member of this community who comes in to top off their tank before a weekend bbq and their tank isn't empty but half full when they came in, they will get charged for the size of tank. Complete stupidity on whomever came up with this idiotic scheme! Pretty bad when this was the first ever time into the store and by God will be the last. It's just wrong and I can't believe I'm the only one who noticed what...
Read moreIf you are desperate for an item found commonly in a hardware store I would suggest to keep driving. I was in desperate need for 1/2in and 3/4 plastic tubing for an espensive piece of equipment, and doing my part by shopping local, I drove to my local hardware store; Foremans. It's almost too comical to comment, but they had 6ft of one and 2 ft of the other on the wall with no other stock available. Upon asking the manager what was the logic of having no addtional stock to replenish the shelf, he replied: ' how am I suppose to know how much this product is taken in a day?... I'll have more in a week.' For a buisness that bosts several UTV's for sale, Milwaukee power tools, and a gun store, you are going to tell me, with a strait face, that you can't afford to have a roll of plastic tubing that probably costs you $9.00 for 150ft? That's baby-town-frolics, management. It's sad that my nearst option for my mechanic and hardware needs is 30 min away at fleet...
Read moreI used to drive past Fleet Farm to come here so that I would have a hardware store local. No longer. They used to have competent help. I was there to buy a chain for my Jonsered saw. They said the only thing that had saw parts for were Stihl. The old chain I bought there. But ok. So I brought my Stihl chain there. After a half hour of the young man looking for that I gave up. Oh they always ask your phone number. But yet there was no history of me buying the saw or any chains there. Have to go somewhere else to get that also. What a shame. I have bought a quite a bit in this store over the years.
