A Heartfelt Thank You to Appliance Outfitters in College Station
Today, my girls and I had an experience worth sharing. Our refrigerator decided to call it quits—because as we all know, appliances don’t last forever. Life happens, right? So we headed to a place we’ve passed by many times: Appliance Outfitters.
Little did we know, one day we’d walk through those very doors in need—and what a blessing it turned out to be.
From the moment we called (and talked Mario) to ask about availability, to the moment we pulled away with a new refrigerator loaded onto our truck, the team at Appliance Outfitters made us feel seen, heard, and helped. While they couldn’t deliver the same day, I was already mentally prepared to take on the task myself—and honestly, that’s how 2025 has been: full of challenges, but even more full of growth and grace.
When we arrived, our three little girls, and I were greeted warmly and helped right away. They showed us exactly what we needed based on the (somewhat brave) measurements I took before leaving the house. They explained their variety of payment options—including financing—which made everything even more manageable.
Now, was it all smooth sailing? Not quite. Their Wi-Fi gave them a bit of trouble during checkout, but we remained patient. Technology can be fickle, but kindness isn’t—and their team showed us nothing but patience and professionalism. We even had a few “small-town” laughs realizing we knew some of the same folks in our community.
Once we checked out, the team loaded the fridge for us and secured it safely. Even though none of the guys helping us were technically delivery drivers, they offered—more than once—to follow us home and help unload. We kindly declined. I told them that since my husband passed, I’ve been teaching my daughters the strength and resilience of women—to fix, to move, to build, and to trust God’s grace through it all.
One of the team members, Justin, even took time to teach me how to safely unload a refrigerator using a dolly. He said he had shown his own wife how to do the same—and that simple gesture meant more than words. Because when someone believes you can, it strengthens the belief you already have deep inside.
We made it home, and yes—we got that fridge off the truck and into the house, all by ourselves. Not without effort, but with confidence. And isn’t that just the story of so many of our lives?
So from the bottom of my heart, thank you to Appliance Outfitters in College Station. Your kindness, respect, and service reminded me that even when life gives us surprises, there are still good people willing to walk alongside us.
If you’re in need of appliances—new or used—please consider supporting this local gem. They’ve got washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, and of course, refrigerators. But most of all, they’ve got heart.
With love and gratitude,
A grateful momma, homemaker, and forever...
Read moreVery nice people, and I'd love for this to be more positive. I have a stand-up freezer that cost right at $800 new from Home Depot. It died in less than three years, and we have a warranty purchased through HD. They don't do the repairs but publish they will reimburse us for the repairs. I called Appliance Outfitters to get it repaired, and they charged $150 to come out and provide a repair cost. All that went well, but I've been unable to get them to provide the cost in writing so I can send it to the warranty company. A very nice lady there sent me an email stating that they wouldn't repair it because it uses R600 refrigerant. That isn't what I was told by Bryan, the service person. He blamed the R600 refrigerant for the problem, but did state the repair would cost almost $2000. I've phoned several times since and emailed, all without a response at all. In the end, I haven't received what I paid for which was a trip with cost for repair, and I can't move forward with the warranty company without that cost. I haven't given up on them; perhaps someone will eventually respond, but in the meantime I have a dead freezer in my kitchen with no way to move on unless I call a second...
Read moreI went to look at refrigerators since mine was pretty old and past the point of cheap repairs. I had looked at a used Samsung with French doors. I couldn’t pay that day because their internet was down so I went back that Monday to buy it. Mario was taking me back to look at the one I chose. When we got to the refrigerator I was looking to buy, he stopped me and recommended I don’t buy it as it’s used and you never know what could happen. Instead he showed me a few more but they were out of my price range. He asked which one I liked and it was a Samsung 2 door refrigerator. It was VERY nice and brand new but was about $300 more than I could spend. After a few minutes he told me he would honor the same price as the used refrigerator with delivery and set up included. I couldn’t believe it. This was a few months ago. I wanted to write a review but also wait a little while to see how the refrigerator worked. It’s been fantastic. I’m very happy I went to Appliance Outfitters. They do great business. Would HIGHLY recommend...
