Designer's Edge Hair & Nails — Local services in Columbia Township

My husband and I brought my 4 year old son who has the most gorgeous long curls here. We were raving about his curls and how we only wanted to take about a half inch off just to get it out of his face. His hair dresser was Mary and she literally cut 3 inches off and all of his curls. I couldn’t see what was going on because I was getting my hair done in a chair facing away from my son. We are absolutely devastated. We were very clear on what we wanted and how much we loved all of his curls.

On top of that...

I went in asking for balayage for my hair. Darker all around color then balayage for the rest of the hair. She started to put foils in my hair and I was so confused. I have done enough research to know that balayage is pretty much painting the color into your hair. Not only did they come out looking exactly like hightlights but they were huge chunks and don’t look natural whatsoever. I saw my cousin who is a hair dresser on from out of town later that day and she said that is nothing of what balayage should look like.

The girls were very nice and professional BUT I wouldn’t recommend going there to anyone and I will definitely never be back. My son no longer has one curl and I paid for balayage and I got highlights that looks like tiger stripes.

Please do your research on salons more than I did before you make...

If I could give 0 stars I would. My fiancé went and got a haircut here today. Told Mariah what he wanted, she started fading it and goes “oh no I went to short” so he had no choice but to go short with the whole cut which was not the plan. He didn’t realize how terrible it was until he got home. Ended up going to the neighbors house to have him fix it. Waste of $25 and a $10 tip. He got his beard and mustache cleaned up as well, which was also uneven and terrible. I recently moved to Brooklyn MI and was so worried I would not find a stylist I would like or would listen to me about what I wanted in my cut, style, color, highlights...etc. I truly LOVE Disigner's Edge and my new stylist Sara. She is extremely talented and she makes sure before you walk out the door of Design er's Edge that you are 100% satisfied. I highly recommend this Salon. Not only are they very knowledgeable in hair care but their customer service goes above and beyond....
