
I have been here for an evening session a few Saturdays ago and this Friday. My friends and I had a great time on Saturday, of course the ice wasn’t perfect at the end of the day but it was still great! This Friday wasn’t so great. Unfortunately some of the younger players decided that public skating was a great time to continue their aggressive training. As a result a few people fell and my friend hit his head on the ice. It was a bad experience as we had to spend a few hours in the emergency room to rule out any serious injuries. Read moreEverything here is great! I decided to give my son some hockey lessons every Saturday morning from 8:35-9:35 AM. I also take him to public sessions and it is Bloody Lovely, the only problem was, today (Monday 21, 2024) some girl asked the guards if they could turn the direction of where we are skating. And let me tell you my son was NOT happy. We don’t want to turn the direction again. Please deny that type of thing because my husband, my son, and I don’t like that kind of stuff. I mean, yes it taught him a bit to skate that way but he wasn’t constant and wasn’t fluent at it. This resulted in some bruises...
Read moreFair sized facility which seems to run fairly smoothly. You have to directly ask for assistance though as no one seems to care too much if you're actually skating, or merely observing. It is family oriented and there are skating aids available for newbies. It's a great deal ("free") if you belong to the Columbia Association. There are some lockers available but the prep room can become a little crowded and you have to sometimes wade through people to get to the skate counter. Overall if recommended giving it a try.
