El Gran Sabor Restaurant — Restaurant in Columbia

I was so happy to try this place out because it is so hard finding good authentic Mexican food in Maryland (I'm from Chicago I know what good Mexican food is), but unfortunately, it did NOT meet my expectations. My daughter and I ordered the beef tongue and it was terrible. It lacked flavor, it was pale (undercooked) cut into big chunk of squares, and a few pieces was just fat. I wish I would've taken a picture of it before we threw it away. If I'm going to be paying $4 per taco (we got 5, so that's $21.20 including tax), at least make the food from your heart. Make it as if you were the one eating it. There's a review on here from a year ago saying how "They have the best beef tongue," and in their picture, the beef tongue looked delicious and it was cut the right way, with a COOKED color. Have come twice now on my work break. First time an order of 2 tacos that took 20 minutes. Second time an order of 7 pupusas that took over half an hour. The cashier rang me up and then said she had to charge me again because she forgot to add the cheese pupusas. Only one other person waiting for food in the restaurant. When I asked if the food was almost ready and that it had been almost 30 minutes her response was that it hadn’t been that long. Showed her the receipt with the time stamp when I ordered. Absolutely loved my experience at El Gran Sabor! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — you can really taste the authenticity in every bite. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for a casual dinner or a night out with friends.
