DO NOT BUY
I purchased a table with Value City Furniture (VCF) in JUNE. I received the table with a scratch on top of it. Note to keep in mind I paid the company to set up this table for me upon arrival. They deliver and assemble.
Heres the timeline of stress and annoyance I had to go through. -end of june: Ordered table -2weeks later: Arrives with scratch on the surface of the table. Notified the company same day. They scheduled a tech to come out to assess the damage. -2weeks later: Tech assesses damage says its not an easy fix, the table top must be replaced. The tech notifies the company of the resolution. -2weeks later(september): I get notified that the table top was delivered at 7 am in the morning. Keep in mind this company comes in and assembles. I paid extra for this. Anywho, the table top wasn't delivered they just marked it delivered. I called 0they stated they didn't have the table top in stock and had the base of the table scheduled for delivery instead and that I needed to reschedule. -3weeks later(october): New table top arrives. They come in and disassemble the old table top. As they are replacing the new one back onto the base of the table they show me that the new one arrived with a scratched on it. Told me they would take photos and notify for reschedule of the new table, in which I took my own as well. They left the new scratched table top on and left.
All the debris from the unpackaging of the table was left in my yard. Screws were left for me to find on my rug. Which happened the first time the table was delivered as well, I just didn't bother mentioning it because "eh whatever its an easy pick up"
Anyways a few days go by and they never called. I called and it was like brand new news to the company. They started to go down the same route "we can schedule a tech to come out to assess the damage, and take appropriate action." In which of course I am upset and replied. "No. I would like another option even a partial refund to settle this so I don't have to spend another 3 months to get this issue resolved. They put me on hold and returned with a 10% refund.
I don't know about any one else. But if I am spending 2k on a brand new table. I expect a...
Read moreA great experience in the showroom belies what you deal with on the back end of the VCF Delivery Center process. The communication was solid, however, due to a bit of weather, this now became the 2nd time being disappointed by a terrible delivery experience. One, the day was snowy, however, you know this every year in Cbus, so why wouldn't have decent tires on your truck, why you wouldn't employ chains on your truck absolutely makes no sense. Our delivery was going to be rescheduled due to the driver insisting he was going to get stuck in our driveway, yet no one has ever gotten stuck. Two, I asked to speak with the manager of the truck over the phone and he said the only way to make the delivery was to take the boxes and put them in another truck. Luckily, I had a truck to do this, a Honda Ridgeline that had zero issues going back and forth, yet their 26' type box truck with a lift gate and nary of much of anything else in the truck was going to be a problem according to the manager. He approved me driving the truck back and forth to move the chairs, but then it became more obvious of how cheap this delivery company really was. Three, no booties for the two delivery guys, who were nice and cordial, but obviously ill prepared to make a delivery into someone's house with wooden floors. Snow, dirt and the like were dragged into the house due to the delivery companies having no shoe protection nor apparently a policy to protect a homeowner's flooring. And lastly, why is VCF in Cbus using a delivery company that at the drop of a hat on snow, inclement weather wants to reschedule deliveries which in our case would have been several weeks just because they have non-working delivery trucks? We'll highly consider who we buy furniture from in the future. Both these purchases were well over 5k, yet both made us feel like we were dead beats the way we were talked to. Our suggestion is for VCF not to be cheap on the backend and make the entire experience great, not just the part where you walk out of the showroom and unfortunately, get smacked in the face like a train wreck on...
Read moreHorrible freezing working conditions for the employees with 22° outside and in this case inside too. Only two guys and 8 cars picking up. The company should be reported to someone as this could be easily corrected by using the office sitting right there unused, turning on heat in warehouse and adding an automatic opener to overhead door for workers to open and close. Customers standing in cold for 30 minutes while workers are sharing one scanner and trying to locate items while freezing. After waiting for 25 minutes I’m told my one piece of sectional I ordered is not there and will be tomorrow! I received an email and a text this morning at 10:20am saying it had arrived and to go pick it up and when I arrive to click the link. I did that. There are pickup spots with numbers. There is no way to mark which spot you parked in. Nobody comes out. After 10 minutes I walk up and wait in line outside for nothing. This wasted two hours of my day and I have to go back tomorrow. The employees apologized and said this happens everyday all day to customers and them. The owners of this company need to be held accountable and correct all of this!! It’s ridiculous for customers and employees to have to deal with such poor systems and mismanagement in freezing temps and everyone involved feels bad about the entire experience! I would never run my business this way!!!!! Ever! Oh, so I call there when I leave to see if the office can explain. The phone rings 25 times. I hear the female answer and keeps talking to her coworker and after 5-6 seconds hangs up on purpose. I calll back. It rings 30-40 times with no answer. This was blatant and willful ignorance! I feel like getting a refund and going to a competitor! ...
