A truly unique experience that would have been MUCH better had the soda shop been open. (One of the main reasons we stopped in the first place) We were told the soda shop was closed due to a lack of volunteers to help run that part of the business.
The mercantile is very good sized and has several different "departments'. A good inventory of specialty items, jewelry, sundries, and even some antique furniture. They had a local vendor selling homemade jellies at the entrance of the store who was both personable and informative. There is a room at the center of the building well set up for private parties.
