My wife and I were treated to a Chef Chris dinner last night by our daughter and her husband who are regulars. Based on descriptions of their previous meals, I came in with high expectations – and Chris exceeded them all. This was an exceptional fine-dining experience in the comfort of my daughter’s home where we chatted with the chef as our meal was prepared. It is somewhat like the chef’s table dining experience in a fine restaurant but in a comfortable, familiar setting and served at a relaxed pace. Each course was more delicious and unique than the last. The ingredients were carefully curated by Chris and his preparations were exceptional. We had five courses – chicken, lamb, salmon, a vegetable course, and dessert. If I had to rank them all, the scale would run from 9.5 to 10.0. Seriously! Chef Chris is a highly trained chef with Michelin-level experience, but perhaps surprisingly a low-key and down to earth guy. He is fun to talk with as he works. Chris and his team were wonderful! They showed up early to ensure they could set up and not interrupt our wedding ceremony. The food was absolutely incredible and all our guests commented many times how impressed they were with the food, the service, and how great it was that they announced the course details when they served the food. Chris worked with me prior to the ceremony to ensure he accommodated the menu for my food allergies so I didn’t have to worry about eating on my wedding day. He also made some kid friendly food for some of the courses so our little ones could feel special too. Chris also helped cut our cake for us and serve it to our guests.
