The course was packed with wait times at every tee box. Pace of play is defined by the group in front of you. The marshal repeatedly met our group of women as we came off off the green and told us to speed up, however we could not go any faster because of the group in the front of us. Instead of finding the first group at the beginning of the bottleneck and asking them to pick it up, we were somehow the targets. That's clear bias and discrimination, and unfortunately I now know the management supports this type of behavior, even though they know it's wrong. As a golf professional, this type of treatment of any golfer saddens me. I feel the golf industry has grown and made significant strides in this area, however clearly we still have some work to do.
Response to the course's response: Your policy is acceptable and accurate, however the course was jammed pack full and we were already waiting on every hole. There was no need for the marshal to tell us to speed up our pace of play because it was impossible for us to do so. We stated this to him and he could see it as well. As an industry professional, I understand these situations happen, especially on holiday weekends, however staff should be trained to invoke common sense and not repetitively ask a group to do something that they can not possibly do. Unless your intentions are to run them off. When you only target certain groups in these situations, your intentions are very clear. Management can see the tee sheet so they know the volume of players for that day. Their response shows that they support this type of ill behavior, however I sincerely hope they will provide some training to their team to appropriately handle crowded course situations with common sense. I'll continue to work to ensure everyone can...
Read moreOn 8/27/24 I booked a round in the afternoon on their website. Upon arrival we were informed by the cart staff that it was cart path only because they put down fertilizer that morning. The heat index this day was 104. There was no messages on the website when booking, there was no discounted pricing, there was no way to know until we arrived.
This was shady business practice as they should have disclosed this in the booking process or offered a price to reflect the inconvenience. They know no one would have played their course that day because of the extreme heat and therefore mislead people into playing there course. It was truly an unsafe environment for a lot of their elderly customers who also expressed they would have chosen a different course that day.
This is the second time I have played this course and the second time I have arrived to a cart path only day not due to rain/water. The course is great and I understand its popularity but perhaps I’m just unlucky. They need to communicate to their customers about current conditions and not...
Read moreMy favorite course since moving to the south in 2007. I haven’t had the opportunity to play here in years since moving from the area , so made the opportunity to play and wasn’t disappointed. The course and greens were in great shape. I booked online and got a check in message the morning of tee time. When I arrived, I was greeted by staff at the bag drop off for official check in so didn’t have to go into the clubhouse. The staff was very accommodating and paired me with another single player. The course has many characteristics from holes with water, of course sand traps, awesome doglegs, background of the ZMax Drag Strip, very scenic, and always seeing Blue Herons flying around or just hanging out. My favorite hole is number 3 par 5. Gragg’s rock sits in the middle of the fairway. I have always tried to hit it over the rock and sometimes have been successful, but this time, per the picture posted, came up short. Had a great time and will make it a point to come back again. Thanks to all staff that makes this golf course...
