Terrible people running this business. I am a paying customer and was there way vefore closing and they decided they eanted to close early and kick us out when I had items I was about to purchase. literally trying to kick us out at 6:47pm when they did not close until 7pm. nasty old man with a beard said he wanted to close early to eat dinner. I said... you don't close until 7pm though, you kicking me out way before you even close? He said yeah, we want to get out of here early since you are the only one in the store. we have another location in Laconia. I said I know and that I had already been in that store. I put everything I was going to buy back on the shelf. I used to help support tge salvation army and my Grammie was a senior soldier for the church years ago before she passed away. I used to love shopping here and this nasty old man is a true piece of work. No one should shop at this location. they won't let you stay unless it is convenient for them even if it is within normal...
Read moreI'm giving up on this store completely. There are many problems and the biggest one now is pricing. I am ok with things being priced according to the inflation but this is supposed to be a thrift store. They wanted $17.50 EACH for these marigold carnival glass tumblers. You can get them way cheaper on eBay if you look hard enough. I will not be returning to this store because everything is priced so high I can't afford it. In addition to that, the staff has always been incredibly cold and rude. They try to push you out the door if it's after 4 and demand you be done checking out 4:45 so they can lock the door at 5. They remind over loud speaker every 5 minutes from 4-5 that they're closing and please be done with your shopping. I get it, they want to go home but you shouldn't feel like you are an inconvenience to them. I'm so disappointed in a store that's supposedly run by a Christian...
Read morePerhaps this Salvation Army is not pristine like some stores, but they are also in a very OLD building (Garage, warehouse?) They give so much back to the community right here in Concord, unlike some other thrift stores with million dollar budgets which pay their CFO's, CEOs. I appreciate the fact that this store gives back until it hurts. This store is run on a tiny budget. The higher-ups do not get paid massive 6 figure incomes (and more) as the larger, well known thrift stores. If they did, they could afford nicer stores which are would be pristine. Now SOME OTHER thrift stores are skimming off the top to sell all their BEST donations on e-commerce (on-line), rather than allowing the people right here in our own neighborhood to get the benefit of better items. Salvation Army Does a FANTASTIC job, ALL AROUND! Thank you for being the best donation recipient.....and a REAL NON...
