I started my journey with Bay Bariatrics with a phone call to gather information in 2020. I spoke to the PA -Jenna who answered a few quotations and told me to call my insurance to see if they cover the service. She said she could not schedule me until I had done this.I called the ins and continued to gather info for the next 1.5 hrs, speaking to everyone I knew that had either a sleeve gastrectomy or bypass in the last few years.
In Sept 2021 I reached back out to Bay Bariatrics and spoke to Jenna-PA again. She was helpful but lacked people skill and was a little brass, this gave me some angst. After doing some research on both Dr Rolgalsky & Dr. Trisigni I decided to go with Dr Rogalsky. He seemed to be very cutting edge and in tune with the changes that had been made in Bariatrics surgery over the last 10 years, this was very important to me.
This is a very scary, life changing commitment I was about to embark in so I wanted to feel 100% in my team and the ability to communicate clearly with them.
Shortly after realizing my Insurance would cover the procedure the consultation was made with Dr. Rogalsky. He was very reassuring that he could help me and that I was a good candidate for the procedure. He took his time to answer all my questions (and I had a lot).Shortly after this process started the PA-Jenna retired and a new nurse filled her position. Hee name is Robin and she has been a complete godsend. Robin made sure I had her cell number and never once didn't answer me. The ball had been dropped on a few things with the previous PA so Robin had her hands full but worked her tail off to do everything possible to ensure my procedure went off without a hitch, and it did! I had a 90 day waiting period in which time I completed by sych eval, meeting with the nutritionist in the mandatory class given by Bay Bariatrics. The first class I took through Bay Bariatrics was rushed through and no one felt comfortable asking questions so I did not get much information from it. Robin held another class and offered to let me join it free of charge to catch me up to speed. My husband attended with me and we gained quite a bit of information from that class.
Surgery was scheduled for Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2022. my insurance Approved a day procedure as my BMI was not too high. Robin and Dr. Rogalsky kept me informed through the whole procedure and were good about communicating with my husband as well. Robin has reached out to me a couple times every day since I got home checking on me. It was a struggle at first, I got dehydrated and had to have a bag of IV fluids administered. Dr. Rogalsky was great about taking care of my needs in his office rather than sending me to urgent care. He added an additional nausea medication so I could hold down fluids better and I quickly started headed in the right direction. He called me personally this morning to check on me and text me this evening to see how I was holding up. Today I am 4 days Post-op and feeling better every day. I have lost 18.6 pounds since the first day of my pre-op diet which started 1/31/22.
I could not say enough about the professionalism in this office in the personal care they have given me. Thank you very much for all you have done. I look forward to this journey.

Read moreI am 4 days post-op from receiving a duodenal switch bariatric surgery. My surgeon is Dr. Rogalsky at Bay Bariatrics. My experience with Dr Rogalsky was phenomenal and my overall experience with Bay Bariatrics other staff was good as well.
If I'm being honest, I did have kind of a rocky start with Andrea, the person who signs up new patients. I hated the fact that you cant call and speak to someone. You have to leave a.message and wait for a call back. That doesnt always work because when that call comes, you might find yourself somewhere you cant have that convo. With me, this lead to a long drawn out process of.phone tag which was incredibly frustrating. Eventually we got on the same page though and things got smoother.
Andrea and the other staff here were extremely accommodating as well. I live 2.5 hours away and t⁰hey allowed me to do phone or video visits for everything that was required via Medicare in order to qualify for the surgery. That alone was a HUGE help especially with the horrible Oregon winter weather. The staff took care of any and all paperwork that was required by Medicare and got everything approved on my behalf which was awesome! They have other non surgical options that worked really well too! One of those options helped me lose almost 40 lbs in the 6 months leading up to my surgery! If you want to make a life change and are ready to pull the trigger.... these are the guys you want to take you through...
Read moreI have just had my surgery 2 days ago. Dr. Regalski and his staff are so compassionate. I have had some hurdles with attempting to get weightloss surgery in the past. First time was at another providers hospital pre covid. That didn't happen, thanks Covid. Then when covid got lifted a second provider refused to even sees me as I had to many life saving surgeries in my abdomen years prior. Then I asked my primary to refer me up the coast rather than inland. That's when I met Dr Regalski and his team. Such compassion and understanding. I was a person not just another sleeve number(that was the only bariatric surgery he performed. ). Actually I had the SADI-S. Dr. Regalski were real and upfront with me. He gave me the you can do better look in the beginning when I Actually gained a pound or two. That gave me the push that I needed. Six months later I've lost a few pounds more than required by my insurance, and this past Monday was surgery day. 4 years and a lot of treats and fears later and it's finally done. Now the best part. Looking for all the new clothes I will have to buy. I know it's going to be a long road. With Dr. Regalski and his team rooting for me to succeed with this beautiful tool they have provided me, the only way to go is up, and...
