If I could give zero stars I would. 1 star for new crew. I have been a frequent client of brindley beach and never had these many problems and a rundown, filthy house when I arrived. Let’s start with when we arrived there was sand on the floors of every room, the f were sticky and dirty with hair everywhere. The pool never got warmer than 76 except for one day after my multiple complaints finally the maintenance man came out and adjusted the pool to 82. Hmmm I was told and given a robotic answer that the pool will not go over 10 degrees ambient heat, yet when it was 65 the pool guy was able to manually turn it to 83???? So I paid $750.00 for a cold pool all week. Meanwhile next door, the pools were 87 the whole week. Let’s continue to the stains all over the dining room chairs when we arrived, so they had someone come out with a huge hose and inconvenience us for that day with loud sounds for hours. The stains looked like they had been there for a long long time so the concerns were not addressed previously and the owners DO NOT CARE or check their house! The appliances don’t work( the mixer is broken and the ice makers along with the freezer that makes lce were not working and producing ice when we arrived. I had to complain multiple times. There were no screens on any of the windows. Some of the beds did not even have fitted sheets, only the top sheet. No effort or care put in. I did have the second batch of cleaners come out and they were great but I asked, did you clean this house previously and they said no, it was another crew. They were very accommodating and I felt bad they came in and basically cleaned for a crew that didn’t show up. I felt I kept composing for previous things that no one took care of. Ok so the best part was the ROACHES. Not one roach but I counted 6 roaches running around lively as could be in multiple rooms. They carry diseases!!!!!!I was told when I complained that I should have addressed this to them and that the owner has a pest control company come out. So what was the solution? Fumigate and stay out of a house we want to enjoy and get sick on fumes??? If they have pest control I will be shocked bc the house was infested. If they were dead then I may find dead roaches but this is another apparent lack of care of the home. I was told that bugs are a normal thing by the beach and that there is nothing the company would do!?!?!!!! I said they carry DISEASES!!!!??? Apparently that means nothing. I was patient and only asked for a cleaning deposit returned. They should have offered some compensation somewhere. She responded by saying that we took the money out of first cleaners and gave it to the second crew. Bathrooms did not come with bath mats so a bunch of us taking showers almost broke our necks, so I went out and bought everyone bath mats. ON MY DIME! What a liability and owners fault. I was told they don’t do this and could only provide towels on outside for stepping out of shower . Um if we pay all this money don’t you think someone should provide non slip bath mats. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Also when there were multiple beds that had coffee stains and skid marks on the sheets at the end of the bed. The sheets were itchy and seeing as everything was filthy, I come to the conclusion that the house was NOT CLEANED FROM BEGINNING. Probable didn’t even wash the sheets since we got up every morning itchy. Why are we paying a cleaning fee up front of it isn’t clean. It doesn’t matter if previous guests trash house before us. We should be compensated not pacified for a job that SOMEONE ELSE SHOULD BE DOING! The amount of time I spent having to do all this coordination with cleaners and vendors made the trip HELL. I had to pacify everyone in the home that were upset. So you blame them if they don’t wanna sleep with disease ridden roaches???I even sent the picture of the roach in our room. No compensation or discount or reimbursement for cleaning fee. NOTHING. Just a response saying we will forward to owner for next time. IM FUMING!!! Attached is picture of roach in my room.

My family had a great time. We love the Outer Banks. The house we stayed in was perfect for our family. We will be back.

We stayed on the 4x4 beach at Oceans 180 from 9/19 - 9/26/2020. Do not stay here if you are sensitive to molds. The best feature of this house is the location, which is mainly what we were looking for. You can’t be anymore on the beach. Maybe it’s different during busier times, but we had the area around the house to ourselves. People parked off to the sides, but far enough away from our house that we still had privacy. We had two groups of wild horses hanging out around the house on our last afternoon/evening (including a 3 day old foal!), which was awesome to watch from the deck. We did not use the lower level (two bedrooms, 1 bath, laundry). It was clean, but musty. I have allergies to some molds, and there is no way I could stay down there. Even just bringing in our belongings through there from the car started to bother me. The main floor (three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and living area) appeared clean upon arrival. More on that below. Well-stocked spice cabinet. Brindley Beach Rental did deliver a blender mid-week, as it was missing. You might want to bring a large frying pan and pot if cooking for a group. The ones provided are medium to small, but worked fine for us. Deck is a great place to hang out. It definitely takes a beating from wind/weather. Again, directly on the beach. There is nothing to protect it, so there is some wear. We did have to hammer down a few loose nails by the stairs, so watch out for that if you stay. Though we greatly enjoyed the location, we would not stay here again. The biggest factor being the mold. While there, I thought the main floor was ok, but upon leaving and getting home, I realized how terrible I really felt. There was mildew and a musty odor in a few of the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. Again, we did not use the downstairs at all. Master bath shower curtain had a ton of mildew. That doesn’t happen overnight, spraying it down or just replacing regularly is just a pretty basic housekeeping task. The second fridge was disgusting, we did not even put beer in there. There was a rotting pack of chicken in the freezer when we got there. Big vent in the hallway ceiling was covered in an impressively thick layer of dust/grime. Other vents appeared to have mold/mildew around them. Heavy dust build up on some light fixtures, etc. Dishwasher was full when we arrived - not sure if clean so we just ran it again. We did have crazy weather at the beginning of the week, and believe the well must have been flooded. The water was perfectly fine when we first arrived. The second day I had to throw out breakfast as the water was so salty we might as well have taken it directly from the ocean. The contract says even though appearance and taste may vary, water will still be safe, drinkable and usable for cooking. Not so much. It took some effort to get a response from Brindley Beach. After 3 days of not being able to cook with the water or shower or wash dishes without feeling like anything was rinsed off, we got a response from the rental company stating someone had actually been out the prior day and said the water was fine. They did send someone out again, and the guy was very nice and helpful, though the issue was not resolved during our stay. Clear communication from the start would have been appreciated and saved us frustration and unnecessary trips in to town to buy more bottled water (we brought enough for drinking water, but assumed tap water would be fine for cooking and cleaning) The family that stayed in the Brindley Beach Rental house behind ours, and they also had issues with the company and also with the cleanliness and upkeep of the home they were in. Brindley Beach’s gorgeous Corolla office is a huge slap to the face, considering they can’t provide basic maintenance, cleaning or communication. To summarize: the location of this home is amazing, but do not stay if there are ANY allergies or mold sensitivities. As for the rental company, we will be avoiding them for future visits and sticking with one of the others we have had good experiences with.

I would first like to start off by saying that any week on vacation with my family is a blessing and with many years spent at the beautiful beach community in Corolla, the opportunity to stay in a gorgeous beach house is a treasured memory year after year. However, our stay this Summer with Brindley Beach Vacations and Sales at "Knot 4 Sail", was unfortunately subpar, to say the least. While the house itself was beautiful, the manner of cleanliness upon arrival did not meet, even at best, the lowest of expectations. We checked in later in the afternoon on Saturday, July 5th and as a family, headed straight to the pool area to relax and refresh after a long day of driving and excitement to be on vacation. With several children in tow, from ages 3-17, the pool was supposed to be a treat! The pictures online were gorgeous! However, it was unkept, dirty and quite frankly, a disappointment. We had to clean empty shopping bags, Gatorade bottles and Pepsi cans from the poolside area and fish out old receipts and gum from the bottom of the pool itself, before we could swim. Not to mention the amount of sand in the deep end of the pool, indicating the area had clearly not been cleaned since the last visitors departure. But, being understandable adults, we did due diligence and thought maybe the pool area had been overlooked, it happens right? Especially on a holiday weekend. Unfortunately, the trashy pool was the least of our worries when we got inside of "Knot 4 Sail", the house we spent THOUSANDS of dollars on to stay at for the week. The bedrooms on the middle level were absolutely disgusting! Loose M&Ms were left on the nightstand in one bedroom, half eaten honey buns and trash in another room and what appeared to be VOMIT on the pillowcases of another rooms bed! Yeah, disgusting. The downstairs sofa had old, dirty socks stuck in it and PILLS were left in the cracks! (Dont forget the several young children we had in tow) The window kitchenette upstairs still had Fruit Loops in the floor and the stairs looked like they hadn't been swept in a month of Sundays. IT. WAS. DISGUSTING! So, I called. The very next morning, after the sheets were stripped and Fruit Loops picked up, I called Brindley Beach Vacations and Sales and requested someone come clean the house, again, the house that we spent THOUSANDS of dollars on to vacation at for the week. I wasn't rude or demanding, I simply explained the disaster we were greeted by and requested someone come out to deep clean. I even asked the Lady I spoke with to let me know when they would be coming to ensure the house was empty for a thorough cleaning. Yet, unfortunately, again, expectations were not met. Brindley Beach Vacations and Sales sent 2 people to the house, 2 hours later who did nothing but pick up MORE trash from behind one of the beds and take the pillowcases from one of the rooms. That. Was. It. Noone bothered to even wipe a counter or sweep a floor! We are truly not people who are hard to please, but for the amount of money spent to rent the house for a week, a fresh set of linens and a good vacuum job shouldn't be too much to ask for. To say we were disappointed in the level of cleanliness and lack of effort is an understatement. Thankfully, we purchased some Clorox wipes and cleaning supplies, (because we had to go get propane for the grill bc the tank promised online was EMPTY) spent a few hours disinfecting and enjoyed our vacation together. It was a fantastic week and Corolla pleased our beach needs yet again, however, our next vacation will NOT be booked using Brindley Beach Vacations and Sales and I would recommend you learning from our mistake and not use Brindley Beach Vacation and Sales either. The ONLY reason I am even giving 1 star is because, regardless of the condition "Knot 4 Sail" was in, my family made new memories and Corolla Beach never...
