HORRIBLE experience at Del Mar College on old Brownsville road. "west campus"

Today my son and I went to meet the gentleman who meets you before you get into the fire fighter program! his name is "WALTER". as soon as my son walked in "WALTER" judged my son right away off his appearance long hair has a beard only 18 years old didn't even give him a chance started being rude and telling him about his appearance. telling my son he had to change his hair and his beard , my son new all this going into the academy . Walter put my son down made my son feel stupid he felt like he wasn't good enough to be in his program! My son walked into Del Mar wanting to change lives and protect make a difference. well thanks to Walter my son doesn't want to my son walked out of Del Mar hurt and embarrassed. I thought professors are suppose to help young adults like my son get ahead in life help the ones who want the help right after high school to be someone in this world of ours. not tear them down and make them feel bad about one point off his test score or because he didn't have the right answers to his questions or because he wasn't to fond of the way he grooms himself! and then "WALTER" had the nerve to ask me " mom are you enjoying this" and I answered " NO" and he replied" well the guy that came yesterday his girlfriend was enjoying every minute of it". my son got up looked at "WALTER" told him thank you for meeting with me today Sir" " mom lets go"! as angry as I was I wanted to give Walter a piece of my mind but I was only there to support my son. But I guess thank you Walter because I do not what so ever want my son being trained by a man like you! a man who gets off making young adults feel like their not good enough for your fire fighter program. shame on you!! I don't even want to rate this place but it wont let me post my experience without a star!!

Whenever you are looking for someone important like the head chair for your major or the dean , they are never there when you look for them!! One task turns to multiple because of the people you cannot find or other workers do not know who they are when you ask for a certain someone. You then have to wait until the person you look for finally shows up, sometimes they dont show up until later in the week. Its terrible. But the classes here are a good size, and the professors are nice! They are willing to work with you regarding any problems you have. This is a great school and they have high standards academically. Front desk workers are very lazy can’t do their job barely answer their phone and have so much attitude I ask them a question make me go to classroom looking for my teacher when she would have told me they weren’t their idk if they don’t have access to simple information at the school but they seem not all there especially at desk 1 and this affects a lot of students just trying to graduate I don’t want to have to their job for them they seem to sit all day and just talk to each other and don’t care for other people they seriously need new ppl to work their and do their actual jobs it’s very sad and very frustrating giving us...
