Great beach with clean, soft sand and much calmer water than the beaches in Corpus Christi. Only wish you could find more seashells as the kids were wanting to bring some home. Don't waste your time going to the Corpus Christi beaches like North Beach. Sand covered in seaweed, no parking, no bathrooms, and jellyfish everywhere. The beaches on the island however let you park right on the beach for a $12 permit that lasts all year and helps funding for the beaches. This beach was gorgeous with a couple showers when you enter as well as porta potty bathrooms about every 300-400 yards. Read moreAwesome place to enjoy the beach. We visited the area two years ago around the Bay Area and decided to try this particular location. I know the beach is the beach, but this area seemed better kept. Was clean. Virtually zero garbage found. Was a bit crowded during the hottest part of the day, as can be expected. What was nice was the location of the place we stayed in. It was only about 3 minutes away. We tried our luck fishing from the jetty, and my brother in law managed to catch a shark. Read moreIt was clean, the sand is compact so you don’t get stuck driving up to a spot, you can camp and have a small fire. Popular surf spot but everyone is courteous. Loved it! Great spot. The only down side is they have ports-potty’s but they also have outdoor showers. You can fish off the beach or off the sea wall that lines the channel at the entrance of the beach. I will definitely be returning again...
