I love the idea of the General Store. I live in the neighborhood and am somewhat of a dinosaur anyway so having a mom-and-pop store within walking distance appeals to me in a romantic/nostalgic kind of way. It conjures up visions of Mayberry, North Carolina in my mind. I get the feeling that I may run into Otis or Floyd on my way up there. Of course, one of the previous comments had a point. There has been a trend of removing useful items you may need in a hurry and replacing them with more alcohol and candy. Remember, Mayberry was in a dry County! lol. That notwithstanding, The Ladies who work there - all days, all shifts - are courteous, kind, helpful, and make you feel good when they recognize you and greet you as you walk in. I think they all deserve a raise! I pray there always be small Neiborhood establishments like this SOMEWHERE in America. Read moreI was eager to see what the newly opened general store would be like, so I stopped in with my grandson yesterday, Tuesday, November 22, 2016. My grandson and I looked at all the different things on the shelves and found lots of interesting choices. The two ladies at the counter were very helpful and friendly, and I look forward to patronizing the store often. It's great to have this little general store open again.
