The hotel is a piece of crap. We stayed in apartment 4b. Its on the top floor on right side of building. Gonna list the negative and positive.
Negative: Some windows dont open. Main living area doesnt have a/c. Stray maingy cats are everywhere and come in the house if you leave the doors open. Nobody ever comes to clean the rooms or house while you are there. The house has a wierd mildew smell. The fringe stinks and makes everthing you put in it stink. Only 1 of the 2 tvs in the house actually work and the tv that does work doesnt have a remote. If you want new towels or toilet paper you have to exchange them yourself down stairs in the office which is not open 24 hours. You have to pay $2.50 for ice. Kitchen does not have an oven. People that are not staying at the apartments are continuously walking thru the apartment area and having parties with loud music and none of the workers do anything to stop it. On 05/09/16 at 8am on a monday a bus of over 50 teenagers came trouncing thru the apartment grounds blaring loud music and blowing whistles. Management did nothing. This makes the place not feel safe. Probably 7 of the ten 10 days we stayed here had music blaring till after 11pm. Is located on a long very bumpy dirt road. You have to take the garbage out yourself.
Positive Located on the best beach in culebra. View is amazing from room 4b and 4a 5 hammocks are available for use on the ground floor. A/c in bedrooms work.
Overview: For the price this olace is not worth it. My main complaint is that its not private. People should not be allowed to just walk thru whenever they want. Its creates a feeling of the place being unsafe. I was scared to leave my doors open becauae so many people were constantly walking thru the place. Place has such great potential but not managed properly. Ice should be free and management needs to stop being lazy and get out and stop non renters from walking thru the units. Towels should brought up to the rooms as well as toiletries. I see a couple ground workers just walking around doing nothing 90% of the time. Such a waste of money. Wish i...
Read moreWow! We (group of 8) stayed in villa 4A during the week (M-F) and could not have dreamed of a better place. 4A has the best view in the whole place of the most amazing beach in the world. When we went, in April, we literally had the beach to ourselves and spent the entire day in the crystal waters, snorkeling, walking the white sand. It is just out your front door! At night you're a quick drive (definitely recommend renting a Jeep while on Culebra) to tons of cute and delicious restaurants, and then you can come back to a brilliant night sky on the beach. I cannot recommend this place enough, and we were shocked at what we got for the price. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is not a resort and some things are more 'basic,' like you only get one towel each and there isn't shampoo or soap, but we found that to be part of the charm, and were happy that it kept the price down. We did wish there was Wifi in the apartment (you can get it down by the office), but again, it actually helped us to disconnect and just enjoy where we were! We grocery shopped and made beach drinks which worked great, if not you can walk down the beach a couple minutes to the drink hut. They have chairs available in the front office for rent, 5 bucks a day, and well worth it. The staff here also lovely. The guy who checked us in was so sweet and helpful the entire time -- he carried my 50 lb suitcase up 4 flights of stairs without even being asked!! And then wouldn't accept a tip at the end of the week! They really went above and beyond to do what they could to make our stay great. I could go on and on!! I will absolutely be...
Read moreYes! Flamenco is in the top most beautiful beaches in the world. Unfortunately these villas are far from making any list. Service is poor, the office staff very rude, specially the fat! woman. Our room flooded with water from the sewer being backed up outside. No one came to clean. It smells like cat urine. The kitchen was in total disrepair. The refrigerator stop working and it spoiled our food. The reason this all happened was because of the following; that was explained to us by one of the over 5 year worker at this location. Every villa is owned by a individual or company, these people have to pay a life time maintenance fee for the upkeep of the grounds and there units. The majority of them are not doing so, therefore the management will not do there job with the upkeep of the unit leaving it to rot! The owner is still able to rent the unit but they will not tell you about the nightmare your about to experience. You are on vacation, so most of us are not going to file a civil action plus is in PR. So if you are going to rent one of these units make sure the owner is paying their maintenance fees and that the room is in working and livable condition. Make the front office personnel give you a email confirmation on a good operational clean room, with room service. The staff is over worked and in a bad mood because they are never payed on time due to the failure of the owner's not paying their maintenance fees. So be very specific if you decide to book one of these villas and cover...
