Needler's Fresh Market — Local services in Cumberland

Needler’s puts out their own set of coupons for people that are registered with them. They had a coupon in there for the week of 11/15 for money off a half gallon of velvet ice cream. Now I shop at this store frequently and I know for a fact they haven’t had velvet ice cream since earlier in the year. So I went up to the service desk to inquire about a substitution. There was a young man working the desk and he told me to read the bottom of the coupon where it says no substitutions. I told him I understood that but you haven’t carried that brand for months. He couldn’t care less about getting someone more knowledgeable than him to assist. So if Needler’s puts out coupons for products they no longer carry that is false advertising. I was disappointed in this store because the front desk usually has very good workers there. I went to the checkout and purchased just the few items I had already in my cart. I don't mind buying local even with the higher prices here but everyone check your receipts, every time both my wife and I have been over the last 4 week, which is usually 1-2 times a week the "sale" prices did not show up at checkout. When I mentioned the price is wrong the checkout associates always seem frustrated but the advertised price and checkout price difference is a huge problem. I don't mind holding up the lines when it usually saves me $20-$30 per transaction. The point of sale system either needs updated or more attention. This usually happens with the 2 or 3 for a certain price items but I've had it happen for simple things like cucumbers. It also happens with meat often. I occasionally go to the New Palestine location when I am in that area. This store originally was Arthur's Fresh Market then a Marsh for several years until that company went toes up. When it was a Arthur's it had a very nice wine selection on the east side of the store. Today that is no longer there but in the same general area is an expanded meat counter with knowledgeable butchers. The quality of the meat is higher than what you would get at the two local supermarkets in the area. Some things are a little pricier than those supermarkets but the plus side is the store is a little smaller and has just a few registers. But those are always occupied by cashiers so you don't have the wait that you would at a Meijer or...
