If I could give the general manager Melissa Ryan and the head trainer Carlos less than a one I would. I spoke with Carlos sometime back at the beginning of September to set up Personal training, to have a payment for it pull out in November. I spoke with the vickery creek location weeks ago about cancelling, but they said since I set it up at Windermere I needed to call them. I called them 3x in one week asking to cancel, they keep telling me Carlos would call me back. Carlos never called, not one time. So this past Monday, when I see the money pulled from my account. I am obviously upset and call them, asking to speak to Sean, who promised that he would have Carlos call me on Sunday. That never happened. Sean puts me on hold, then goes and gets Carlos. Carlos only says you signed an agreement, you have 30 days to cancel and then a 7 day grace period to cancel. He is not doing anything to help the situation. I ask to speak to the clinic manager, to which Carlos replied with she’s going to tell you the same thing. By this point I’m furious. Melissa Ryan gets on the phone and from how she answers the phone immediately, it’s obvious that she is not going to help. She tells me that a contract is an agreement between two people (Carlos and I). I told her that the contract becomes null in void if I no longer want to do it. She repeats the same cancellation policy, that makes no sense with the way they stated it. She refused to give me a refund and continued to be rude. At this point I had raised my voice, but when you have someone telling you that they won’t refund you for a service that you didn’t start, nor could financially afford anymore you can understand why I was upset. I have never met a manager so rude. She then tells me well we’ll just put it towards your dues and you won’t owe until May 2019 and I’ll let you out of your 3 month contract agreement. Never once did they apologize or even try to empathize with the client. Their sole care was about money and only about money. If it weren’t for Theresa Stewart at the vickery creek location I would have cancelled. She took the time, sat down, read over the contract the way Carlos should have, and also told me that I should have been offered a buy out option. She’s the type of person you should have working for you. The fact that both Carlos and Melissa try to force you to personal train is horrible and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. So while the vickery location of onelife is a wonderful gym with fantastic people, the Windermere location is not. They need to either retrain their staff how to handle upset customers or they need to rehire more...
Read moreI had the misfortune of joining OneLife Fitness at their Windermere branch, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The manager, exhibited appalling behavior that was rude, abusive, and downright unprofessional. When I initially signed up, I was coerced to join their Personal training class starting Jan, 24. I was offered a free trial class in Dec and thought the personal trainer was a GREAT guy, due to my busy travel schedules and he cancelling the class a couple of times, I immediately realized this is not going to work and immediately requested to cancel the training sessions. Instead of handling the situation with basic courtesy, the Director was incredibly condescending and accusatory. He outright called me a liar and refused to take any responsibility for the misinformation I had been provided by their staff. His attitude was hostile, and he seemed to take pleasure in denying my rightful request. What's even more appalling is that OneLife Fitness' policies are written in a way that is deliberately misleading and designed to trap members. The contract language is vague, allowing them to interpret it however they see fit, despite any verbal agreements made by their staff. It's a classic bait-and-switch tactic that reeks of deception. To make matters worse, Lewinsky made it abundantly clear that he had no intention of working with me or trying to find a reasonable solution. He was dismissive, unapologetic, and seemed to relish in her ability to enforce the gym's draconian policies without any regard for customer satisfaction. I cannot stress enough how terrible my experience was with OneLife Fitness, particularly with the Windermere branch's management. Their policies are hostile, their staff is poorly trained, and their managers are rude and abusive. They have no qualms about misleading potential members and then holding them hostage with unreasonable contracts. I joined this gym with an ambition of lifetime membership but not after 1 month, paid penality to cancel my membership.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this gym at all costs. There are plenty of other fitness options out there with far better management, policies, and overall customer experience -- even planetfitness is much better than this. OneLife Fitness - Windermere is a predatory business that does not deserve our hard-earned...
Read moreI would give them 0 if I could. DO NOT JOIN HERE BECAUSE IT WILL BE A NIGHTMARE IF You cancel the membership.
Signing up was easy and I was told that I can cancel anytime. I knew I may have to cancel if I had to start traveling for work. I clearly asked cancellation terms and I was told I will just have to pay annual fees if that is the time of the year, or else you can cancel without a hassle anytime.
What was not conveyed to me was this.
It is a 12-Month contract regardless what they say Membership cancellation will be through an email address, nobody will talk to you and fitness center says it’s corporate who cancels and they do not help sort out all the nonsense terms that were never communicated. 3.Membership cancellation email support just keeps copy pasting what is there as a standard template, doesn’t answer clearly what you ask Membership cannot be cancelled unless you pay one month dues for next month plus $59 fees to buy out and the annual charges. If you have a relocation proof, then they may consider waiving it off but they need address proof, nothing else is accepted as relocation like flight tickets etc
I have been telling them to cancel the membership, they have charged more than $100 since I requested to cancel but yet, not cancelling the membership. It has been a nightmare because no one helps in person and email support is useless and senseless. The fight via email is still going on and they don’t seem to care at all.
I would have paid one time fees and got out, had I known that they don’t care about customers but just trying to make more money month on month. Everybody needs to have their own terms and conditions to protect their business and I agree they must. The problem I have is with the dishonesty. No terms were communicated to just make me join. Once joined, they didn’t bother to care because they are just getting their monthly fees.
Club manger was useless, he said he cannot help. Ridiculous and pathetic customer service here, pay extra and join somewhere else where all of their conditions are listed on their...
