This is a beautiful area with very nice accommodations. We are new to VRBO but not to the N. GA mountains and this area. I don't know if we don't understand how VRBO works, but we thought we would have access to the whole house, not just the small bedroom and roomy bath. For the money, we could have a very nice hotel room where we could have at least had access to vending machines, nearby shops and restaurants. As it was we did enjoy the homey bedroom, hot tub the first night since it didn't rain, and the nice bathroom and the gas fireplace. It was just discouraging to not have access to a kitchen, with filtered fridge water and nice supply of ice (we use lots of crushed ice in our water bottles we guzzle through out the day) rather than bathroom water and the two tiny ice trays in the tiny hotel-sized fridge/freezer with 2 plastic water bottles of water. Plus we were there for a wedding and spent little time on the premises. So the hiking around the property between schedule and rain we didn't do. The owners do provide many nice-etties for renters if you are there for the purpose of outdoor activities. The bed was roomy but too hard for us and the pillows were flat and felt old/used. Peter did offer to light the fire pit on our first night but we had just gotten in and didn't want to and next night it was raining. According to the guest book past guests rave about all the amenities and s'mores kit. We saw no s'mores kit nor offered one. They do have a cabinet with paper plates, silverware, mugs, kuerig, teas, coffee. And two bottles waters in the fridge along with stuff to grill on the little grill on the deck. We also read about their two dogs and how they would visit. Being dog lovers we looked forward to their visit but they were not too be seen or heard. If we had full info on this set up we would have chosen to stay elsewhere. The owners and VRBO should do a better job describing exactly what access you have in the property and describe this is a one small bedroom, one bath rental with no full house access or privileges. It's not that it was a bad experience, it was very disappointing from what we expected. Now we know. Thanks to Peter for trying. Oh and warning:the rug at the front door slips!y husband...
Read moreMe and my fiance spent the past week 06--07-21 to 06-12-21 at the cottage located here. The people who manage the cabin were very friendly and extremely courteous, and their dogs were very sweet too. Aside from some minor critter issues, there was nothing about our stay that I could complain about, and even the critter issues weren't much reason to complain. I'd highly recommend this place for newlyweds or parents wanting a getaway from their kids, or even just as a stress relief, which was how we treated our experience. I will say that if you have a 1.6 horsepower engine vehicle, you may wanna think about another location as the hills and rises can be a challenge. But again, it was worth the challenge to have had such a wonderful...
Read moreA great experience! Peter and Karen have three one bedroom rentals at this cabin. We stayed in "Beraradise" a spacious apartment complete with-living, dining even a library room. The Hot Tub was unique especially how it is set by itself in this little valley. We really...
