The actual worst management I have ever experienced in my life. Inept is the only word that sums it up. This is going to be a lengthy review because so much happened during our time there and we only lived there for 6 months. From the get-go this place was hard work. It took me weeks of calling and emailing to get our lease sent over to us after we paid our deposit. We were moving from out of state so we could not just go up to the office. They do not answer the phone. It takes multiple emails and days to get a response. On the day we moved in they made us wait 2 hours with all of our stuff and cat in the U-Haul because they said I did not have renters' insurance when I had actually already emailed them the policy. They even went so far as to make me sign up for another policy through this random online agency and said they would refund me. Took 3 months of me having to ask for that refund. Moving day was a nightmare. They have nowhere for U-Haul's to go and the doors are not big enough to get big furniture through so our couches tore trying to get through the door. Then our stuff was stolen in the hallway. I went down to the office and was told there was nothing they could no because there are no cameras in any of the hallways.
Other major issues we had with this place. Every exterior door was broken. You are supposed to only have access with a key fob but none of them worked so anyone could just walk into the halls of every building. Our building door was literally off of its hinges half the time and stayed wide open. Last week a man who did not live at Reveal gained access through the broken exterior doors and held his girlfriend hostage. There were always cars being stolen and broken into. There are "cameras" in the parking garage, but they do not work. They do not require background checks. I woke up one night to sirens in the parking garage and saw officers had a man at gunpoint. The garage gate that allows residents into the parking garage was broken for about 6 weeks. They shut the pool in peak summer due to "maintenance" but after doing some asking around it was because they had not obtained the proper pool license from the city and was operating the pool illegally. The parcel lockers never worked. This resulted in delivery drivers dropping off packages out in the open or in the office which no one was ever at. I had 2 packages stolen and the office told me there was nothing they could do about it. I don't know maybe fix the lockers? There was always trash piled outside of the chutes and the hallways stunk of trash.
Fast forward a few months and me and my husband unexpectedly have to move to another country due to circumstances out of our control. We asked if we could have our termination fee waived as we would have to break our lease and we were denied. Fair enough. Although, it is worth mentioning that they do not have the proper procedure or paperwork for this situation. We spoke to Caitlin who was the assistant manager at the time and asked if there was any way we could set up a payment plan. She agreed (in writing) to a 6-month payment plan and then 3 months into said payment plan sent us to collections for non-payment.
This place has caused us so much stress over the last year and it makes me sick that after all of these issues we still had to pay these people almost three grand. Please do not let the amenities fool you. On the outside it looks so nice but it is truly a nightmare of a place to live. Please do not make the same...
Read more*The parking situation here is not being enforced by your staff. Last night I ran into some of your staff that left the parking gate open because it was 'jamming'. However, upon further speaking with your employee that opened the gate, she said that it was either leave it open or have someone drive through it. It is your employee's inaction and honest laziness that allows people to think that the rules and regulations of this place are optional. There are residents who keep the sensor tag for the gate in thier car and hand it over to thier friends and people who are not on the lease and do not live here to get in. The policy should be that a car cannot be allowed in without a sensor tag, and if there is a car in there without a sensor tag they should be towed. These apartments are not cheap, and I am not going to be quiet about your staff's inabilities. *
I submitted this complaint to the corporate office and that same day I got a notice about taking my shelving unit off my porch. It's quite funny how my shelving unit has been on my porch for the last eight months I lived here and now that I am complaining about the inactivity of the staff and sporadic regulation enforcement I get a notice about furniture that is technically porch furniture and is allowed in my lease THE VERY SAME DAY. It's fine, I removed the shelf, but as a future resident please note that grills are not allowed on porches and yet grills are all over the place. Someone set fire to the ground in front of thier apartment with the grill...and yet, it is still here. Bikes are not allowed on the porches and yet bikes are everywhere. Please note the passive aggressive retaliation and how this management chooses to manage.
The location is beautiful. The apartments are beautiful and brand new, no issues on anything in the apartment. I do love living on the lake...but that's the only reason to move here. If you want to live around here, there are about three other apartment complexes on the lake to take a look at built within the last 15 years and still looking wonderfully brand new.
Parking might be a small issue for some. That's understandable. But I personally know of a situation where $300 worth of items had been stolen out of someone's car. A very large reason I moved here was safety. They sold me on the key fob and locked doors and the codes and the gated parking. There are doors that haven't locked in months, that are open at all times. I'm a woman who works long hours late into the night as a restaurant manager, and walking through a large parking structure past cars closer, and thus safer, to the actual apartments that don't have proper tagging to even park in the structure makes my $1300 I pay a month for a one bedroom apartment feel sadly wasted. The doors that don't lock make my $1300 a month feel wasted.
For the price...go elsewhere.
Edit just to clarify. I have spoken to the staff about all these problems numerous times. I even have the towing company's number. I have called in cars and nothing has been done. Another resident has told me that one office worker said that they didn't want to deal with all the people that would be mad about getting towed. And you know a problem is bad if complete strangers are commiserating together about what they notice are the same problems. I do love living here, the maintenance and the location are wonderful, but I can get the same thing for a couple hundred dollars less ten minutes across the lake....
Read moreOur experience was extremely unique because it was in the midst of COVID-19. In preparation for our move to Dallas mid March we set up several apartment and rental home tours in the community 2 weeks in advance. On the day of our tours late March we arrived to these facilities many cancelled right on the spot without warning, phone call or email. They said they would not be doing tours anymore due to COVID 19 (as per the stay in place mandate finding a home is considered to be essential so I was shocked by this news). We really wanted an in person tour of the community and a virtual tour wasn’t enough especially with the fact we plan on calling this our home for the next 2 years and expect to have many life changes unfolding soon.
Ally was the ONLY consultant who did not cancel on us. We used social distancing measures during the tour (i.e. protective gear before touching surfaces and used hand sanitizer to ensure the decrease of spread). We were highly appreciative.
Fast forward to now. We revisited this same facility to finalize our decision. The Towers at Bayside has been the model example of how to conduct ones property during this unprecedented times. They have 2 options self guided tours or virtual. Mind you the other facilities are still not open and only offering virtual tours even after the stay at home mandate has been lifted. They also cannot give a clear date when they will reopen or offer self guided tours.
Julia has been our contact person moving forward and she has been great she has been in constant communication and following up with our initial consult. We really wanted a smooth process and answers to our detailed question which she has provided very well (even through text messaging!). In one day during our tour we literally checked out 4 units to find the right fit and then revisited our top 2 to be sure. She was always in good spirits and more than happy to help us make the right decision. We even mapped out the best route I could take to get to my place of work quickly in case of an emergency.
My criticism would be in regards to the layout of the parking structure it’s not horrible but it’s not constructed like most buildings were there is access to each floor from the structure.
Also the application questions could be updated they asked some antique questions and added unnecessary steps. What surprised me was that many people have complained about this yet nothing has been done. I consider Towers at Bayside to be a progressive community and expected a high level of customer service. It’s not bad don’t get me wrong but it’s not great! They can definitely improve some processes.
Lastly the units do not have a utility closet (i.e. where you can hang your coats, store misc items etc). The layouts are limited but still functional.
Don’t worry the spectacular lakeside views has made everything obsolete at this point lol!!
Overall the experience has been seamless and we are excited to make this our new home and the 6 weeks free rent + 500 gift card makes this deal...
