Devonport Commons has quite a few stores so it is convenient when you have to pick up lots of different stuff. These are some of the anchor stores in the Commons: Walmart, Sally Hair Supplies, Dick’s House of Sport, Golf Galaxy and Hobby Lobby. The WalMart store there relies too heavily on self checkouts and doesn’t seem to have enough open or ready. People get confused as to which ones are open and it seems to cause a lot of frustration there. I am a WalMart + subscriber so I use the Scan and Pay in the app on my phone so that I don’t spend much time at the checkout. You just scan a box on the screen and pay and that’s it. This store grouping has many clothing items which are of good quality. Items are there for every age from infants to grandparents. Everything from socks to formal gowns is displayed. I noticed clerks carefully arranging the items back to their proper sizes if they had been moved by customers. The prices are fairly good though some are more than I would expect to see at this type of location. One other thing that I noticed was that most clothing items seem to be made of polyester or related fabric. I saw very few cotton garments. Have always shopped walmart. More so in the past. Since they started the walmart grocery I have cut back on using them. You cant get the items delivered that at 1 time you did. They have become In Store Only purchases & the few items you can get delivered the prices are much higher then if you went to the Store. Very difficult for me with some disabilities I have. The purpose of having things delivered was I cant carry them up the stairs. Now I cant get that service anymore. Items are limited for delivery & or cost more.
