Me and my husband went to play golf or try to, today, and I'm not sure who he is. But the older guy that works there, is always rude to my husband and we were there at around 9 or 10 maybe. And said he couldn't book a tee time til 2. And even though I know due to covid, there are certain rules about booking tee times. Past several times throughout the last few months, hes never had to make a tee time. And the back 9 didn't even have anybody on it hardly. He was just down eight rude to my husband, makes us not even want to go back. We keep going cause its close to home, definitely not because of customer service from that older guy. The other guys and girls that work there have always been nice to us. It's just him that's rude. And when we got home, we tried calling the Dayton Golf Course at least 5 or 6 times and nobody picked up the phone. Not ever. I know maybe because of covid, the rules are you have to make a tee time. But is not answering the phone to help your customers another rule in place because of covid. My husband has spent a fortune at this golf course and I would think they would treat a long time customer like that just a little bit better. But I guess not.
Update: Dayton Golf and Country Club Superintendent contacted us and apologized for this employees behavior. Thank you. And have to say love the club, not saying nor ever anything bad about the club. Its honestly me and my husbands favorite place to play golf and it's close to home, so we'll always play here. And love the family like atmosphere. We never even have to bring anyone to play golf with us cause my husband knows everybody, and theres always someone we meet and play with. And thank you for making such a great golf course. Just didnt want to see anybody get treated the way we...
Read moreMy wife and I played here for 1st time today. Only played the front 9. The course was in poor condition except for the greens which were pretty nice but dry, hard and fast. It was also mostly flat and not very challenging except for finding the next tee and direction of the green. The red tees were in very confusing places. The green for hole 7 was just a couple of feet away from a large pond and impossible to approach. You are either in the pond or way over the green. Finding the tees for 8 was stupid with them all being mixed up with some of the tees for 7. We just skipped to 9 which was straight boring and flat just like most of the front 9. It would have helped to have a layout of the course on the score card but instead it was a bunch of local businesses advertising. Probably won’t play...
Read moreThe course was in great shape. The staff was polite and helpful. Only problem was the young man running a weedeTer near my truck sent rocks at me and my truck when my cousin asked him to refrain around the cars. He continued anyway hitting both me and my truck with rocks: otherwise, the course was fun to play. We were not rushed and it happened to me a most beautiful day. I enjoyed playing golf with my cousin who is a member there. It was a good drive from Knoxville but we'll worth the trip. I will always be available to play there every opportunity I get. I just hope the weedeater guy has finished before I get there!...
