#AmericanFreight Huntington Wanting to let people know how a friend of mine has been "treated" by a fellow at the #AmericanFreight Store in Huntington, West Virginia. A friend of mine ordered a mattress from this store and was told she could have a mattress for a certain amount which was lower than the price showing online. This was told to me with her listening (she has a speech impediment and has trouble having people understand her). We were happy thinking she had saved some money, but when we arrived looking for the fellow who said he could get the special price, he acted like he didn't know it or forgot it, but went ahead and gave her the price agreed to and then asked if we were willing to pay $20 for haul-away even though he said haul away was included in the price, and she agreed anyway. The mattress was delivered, but the delivery truck men said they didn't have an order to haul away her old mattress. We called #AmericanFreight to let them know what happened and the fellow who took the order (name withheld)acted like he was beside himself that the mattresses weren't picked up and that he'd have them picked up the next shipping day. As Wednesday (their normal shipping day) passed STILL no one came for the mattresses. Talked to the fellow again, and he then said he'd give a credit for the problem but the credit never came, although I have a receipt he'd sent to my email address making me think there was. The first receipt sent never came even though he was doing it as we talked on the phone. I reminded him that I didn't receive the email so he then worked up another and sent it. It didn't make much sense to me and I should have said something, but thinking he was the manager, he would work out the credit for her some way, and I didn't want to ask a bunch of questions. I've checked her bank statements with her and as of this date there has been no credit and the purchase was made 02/23/2024. I'm not sure what this one fellow is up to, but the receipt shows a credit for $53.49, but she has never received anything back into her bank account. Called one last time today 03/20/2024 and all the fellow answering the phone could say was he couldn't find where they were going to haul away the mattresses. I was upset that I'd have to resort to what I'm doing now. It feels like there are some shenanigans going on at this #AmericanFreightStoreInHuntington and it seriously feels like this fellow was playing with us all along. I went in to get just a daybed, the employee said they hadn't unloaded any of the trucks yet if I would be come the next day they should have it cleared and can get me the item after he had already charged me because he said they had one in stock. I had no problem with coming the next day to pick up but when I did another employee stated they only had part of the day bed that he was unable to find the 2nd part and then he can offer me a deal on two twin beds.. to which I replied what do I want two beds for I just need one and his co worker shouldn't have charged me for an item if he wasn't 100% sure they had in stock. My husband was a little more patient than me and just asked the employee to just check again and give us a call if they can't find the item then we can start the process to get refunded. We gave them till almost closing time before we called back because of course they couldn't take the time or decency to call us to let us know they still didn't have the item nor did any of the other stores have it. So I asked for a refund because as fast as they were to take my money I had to wait till they can refund it, the employee had the audacity to say well we are not in a world where we have technology to make fast refunds. 1st of that was F*&^ing Rude! And Secondly he should've been more considerate especially when it was their fault and laziness for not unloading their trucks when they had to. The 1st employee was also complaining that the corporate office expected them to unload the trucks the same day but he would unload when they would get to it and if corporate wanted it done faster than they can do it themselves. Horrible service for overprice items, I should've just been patient and gone to IKEA or Value City. After half day I called store spoke with assistant mgr Jay stating items are on truck will be delivered soon. About 7:30pm I received call from driver Saying that my items will not be delivered until sometime tomorrow. I explained not only have I waited the entire day. I have a flight in the morning. Well I all try to see what I can do and I will call you back. 30 minutes pass no call. I called store again spoke with mr Jay. Well it won't be delivered until tomorrow. I lost it you assured me my items was on the truck would be delivered today. He put me on hold again something he is good at. I had to hang up call back well the driver will be back to pick up your items to deliver tonight after being told my items are on truck earlier. This place is discussing to the fullest.
