Bought a half cow from a farmer and used their butchering services. Had two issues. One was missing English Roasts and the second was I specifically asked for Texas-style plate ribs but received traditional short ribs.
They offered to do the right thing on the English roasts, but basically told me to pound sand on the ribs. I explained that I spent a lot of money on this and ordered a certain way that I canât get anywhere else locally. Their response: the guy who originally took the order on the phone didnât know what I meant.
When I kept pointing out to the guy I was currently talking to that thatâs not how I ordered them, he said âbut you got the ribsâ as if the problem was the ribs were missing and âthat kid doesnât know what Texas-style areâ, as if that absolves them. No, I ordered $1.5k worth of meat a certain way, paid you to do it a certain way, and it wasnât done that way. It was alluded to that they had an internal conversation about the mishap before I picked up, but they didnât say anything, guess they were just hoping I wouldnât notice.

   Read moreI ordered a quarter of a cow earlier in February and was told to expect it by the end of the month. The end of the month came and went, and I didnât hear anything from them. I called back and they told me to anticipate it the first Wednesday of March, which also came and went, and I didnât hear anything from them. I called back again, and they apologized, and told me it would be available this Friday (3/13). I called this afternoon to see when I could come pick it up, but was then told it would not be ready again for at least two weeks, at which point I cancelled my order.
I am not sure how they are so inept at estimating what orders they can or cannot fill - but being misled over and over when I could have gone somewhere else has been immensely frustrating. Iâm sure the product is decent based on the reviews I read, which is why I chose them in the first place. However, even though they might be busy, they can also communicate and care. I find it particularly insulting as a customer when the business cannot honor its word and makes no attempt to take any initiative in making it right. To me, this reflects the pride they take in their business, which inevitably must show in their product. I am going to assume that I am better off not having gotten...

In case the owner or manager reads this I am not interested in making my first purchase without seeing the meat and interacting with employees. Additionally when I googled your store it stated there was in store shopping. When I arrived there was a piece of paper in the door window stating no in store shopping.
