Decided to run up to Red Door BBQ in Delaware. The owner is Jimmy Green. In a prior business, he owned Jimmy G’s Food Truck. He started smoking back in 1999. All his meats are smoked in a Southern Pride smoker. On to the food. I ordered a Brisket sandwich, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, corn pudding and baked beans. The coleslaw has a sweetness and a tang to it. It gets your taste buds going. The Mac and cheese was definitely homemade with a nice creamy sauce. Yummmy. The corn pudding was definitely a star, it was nice and moist that blended well with the corn. Delicious. The Baked Beans were some of the best out there. Made with chunks of brisket mixed with a great sauce. Doesn’t get any better. On to the star of the show, the Brisket Sandwich, oh my goodness, smoked with cherry wood, it was nice and moist, smoked perfectly. Definitely some of the best out there. Put it on an Auddino’s sub bun and add a little BBQ sauce. Off the chart!!! I truly appreciate that Jimmy took the time to chat with me. Learned a lot of his history that inner mingled with a number of BBQ legends locally that I met. Definitely will be back. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to check out...
Read moreI was not finding an inspiring BBQ joint on Google Maps. I was going to settle on one of the chains in Columbus. Then I saw a local gem that caught my eye. I had my BBQ instincts kick in and I put Red Door BBQ into the GPS. So parking for the building sucks. Oh well, you want some Q don’t ya? So you park your vehicle or lock up your ten speed and wander inside. I’d recommend you get the sampler, like I did. It’s big enough you can share with someone but small enough you can gorge yourself, like I did. For the meats, you get (3) ribs, a nice pile of brisket and a choice. I’d suggest you pick chicken, like I did. Get some of that new white sauce they’re sampling, like I did. You’ll probably have a hard time selecting which meat was your favorite, like I did. You’ll find the meat is good enough to eat on its own, but those sauces are welcome, yup, just like I did. My mac & cheese and sweet corn bake were both delicious, but I’d like to try that potato salad. I know if I’m ever back in the area, I’m stopping back in here and you should as well,...
Read moreWe ordered the St. Louis ribs, beef brisket coleslaw, Mac n cheese, potato salad and backed beans. My order was ready when I arrived, very clean inside and they seemed very organized. I didn’t like the bbq at all… it seemed as it was made by ppl who don’t know or choose not to properly season their food. With bbq you have to be sufficient in seasoning , rubs, smoking, marinating and grill. I’m from St. Louis my father owns the most popular bbq restaurant in town (downtown STL). I grew up around great bbq my whole life so… I think maybe not being from Delaware Ohio, I have different taste buds. If you’re from around here you’ll probably like it. I did like the lemonade and coleslaw. They are very friendly, clean and organized. Give them a try.. It’s a no for...
