We went to Papa Nick last night and were lucky to have Ado as our server! We made reservations through Facebook messenger, so we did not have to wait, although there appeared to be plenty of seating. Our table was next to huge windows overlooking a beautiful grassy hill.
Ado took our drink and appetizer orders and brought our bread, and he warned us that service might be a little slower due to them just opening and working out issues. He also told us that everything, including the bread and sauces, were made in-house. We had bruschetta first. The bread on it was a little thickly cut, but it was homemade and delicious. I ordered the Papa’s Pasta, and my husband ordered the filet. We both had salads. My pasta was great - you choose your noodles (I chose penne, per Ado’s recommendation), and it came with red sauce, chicken, and garlic bread. The steak was high quality beef cooked to a perfect medium rare.
We didn’t stay for dessert this time, but we are looking forward to coming back soon and...
Read moreThe wait staff are great and the restaurant itself is nice. The food was not good. My husband had the potato and beef soup and he loved it. He also had the chicken Alfredo. His Alfredo sauce was mixed with spaghetti sauce. It was good, but not a traditional Alfredo. My meal is where we had the problem. I ordered a ny strip. I asked for rare. I got medium. I didn’t send it back because it’s not worth the wait. The steak had a very strange taste. Almost sour afterwards. It was chewy because it was over cooked. I couldn’t eat it after three bites. The baked potato wasn’t bad but the fried okra had no flavor. They don’t season their items. And we were told all the sides were made from scratch every day. The okra was from a freezer. I have no doubt of that. Again, the wait staff are great but the food is not worth it. I would rather pay the same price, get half the portion, and have phenomenal food than what I...
Read morePapa has potential. The service was good, however, we were not presented with dessert options at the end of the meal. I ordered the shaved prime rib sandwich, which had good flavor, but the bread they used was the table bread, which they give before the meal with butter. As good as that bread is, it was awkward and not substantial enough for the prime rib sandwich. The french fries were very under cooked and white and not edible. The sandwich should be served with Au Jus, but none was offered, or to our knowledge, even available. The kids had chicken strips, which were very bland and needed salt, although they appeared very good and substantial. Overall, with a few tweaks and adjustments, Papa Nick's could be a strong hit...
