We went on a Friday evening after 5 so we didn’t have to pay to park and the parking lot wasn’t full; neither was the beach. It sprinkled rain but we still had the best time with our 2 year old. The foot rinse on the way to the car was perfection after the sandy walk to the lot. We will be back during normal hours for sure.
We also tried a Sunday morning and it was a really long line of traffic. We arrived to the line of traffic around 8:30 and got to the parking lot by 9. We were probably the 10th to last car to fill the lot for the opening. It was beautiful and low tide so plenty of beach for us at 9. It wasn’t too crowded and everything about the beach is gorgeous - the sand is so soft and white with no shells or beached seaweed; the water is crystal clear with little seaweed and no shells or rocks to hurt your feet; it was not overcrowded probably due to the majority of beach goers having to park in a lot that has a maximum capacity. We love everything about this beach! Easily our favorite oceanic beach in New England and we are originally from New Hampshire and Maine.
Next time we try on a weekend we will be arriving for 8 to try to avoid some traffic as that was the only downside to our visit...
Read moreFrom my searches , Mayflower beach came up as one of the best in the cape. They did note it’s crowded but this place was packed like sardines and definitely not a place to relax at. I couldn’t find a spot without feeling like I’m with other people. You will be laying very very close to others. The shores stretched across but not too much towards the water. I didn’t care for it and lost $35 for parking because there’s no refunds. It’s a fun day for families and kids who wanna spend more time in the water. I was sunbathing and relaxing. The signs said the lot was full but it wasn’t. I was told I can use the pass at other beaches in Dennis. I didn’t like corporate either and smelly...
Read moreOBS.: I had to come here to do this observation, although we love the beach, I think the policy’s taken on 4th July 2024 - regarding the safety and everything else - on another point of view, were very unthoughtful regarding family and kids. It was very frustrating, not even drop off closer to the beach was allowed. We had to walk around 1mile caring heavy bags, umbrellas, chairs, kids, on a hot weather and very small space to walk on the street since there no sidewalks. It was my worst experience in Mayflower.
Review: Definitely one of the best and most beautiful beaches in Massachusetts. So worth the visit. Soft sand with not shells, clear water,...
