The resort is lovely. The grounds, the desert and the mineral pool and spas. BUT! they call it a gated community, it's a flimsy chain link fence. The sites are okay but not for 1530.00 for a patio. They all have patios but some don't have a fence and the fences give no privacy anyway. 1530 for a site is in our opinion ridiculous and they continue to increase the rates each year because they know people will come. Stop coming and the rates will decrease. The pool and spas are missing so many tiles so be careful not to cut your foot open, they need to be maintained and cleaned. They are rusting on the bottom and stairs leading into the pool and spa. The staff can be a bit more friendly. Be careful too because they won't tell you the numbers are up with COVID-19 and still gather. We got sick from and indoor activity. Also there has been a plastic chair in one of the ponds in front for weeks. They don't do a great job on maintaining the grounds. If you want to spend what you pay on a mortgage and don't mind broke tiles in the spa and pool this is the place for you.
Since I can't respond I'll attach this add on. With talking to your residents who live in the park we have heard greed is the reason the prices have increased. Even the rv'ers are disappointed. It has come to our attention that most campground/resorts have increased their pricing because they know they can get the money they ask for. Pricing people out from camping in my opinion is wrong. Just remember you can't take your money with you went you die. Make your prices reasonable for campers and park...
Read moreWe stayed at this park May 15 - May 27, 2025 due to having RV trouble we had to wait for parks to arrive. We were staying at Thousand Trails Palm Springs but that park closed for the summer. We arrived at Caliente spring to check in employee did not have time to give us directions just handed us the paper work and said off you go. Well I got turned around ended up exiting the park and had to start all over. Site was wonderful very level, great electric, water and sewer. Went to the pool there was a game of volleyball going on in one side of pool and a few people on the other side. We got one of the hot tubs there was a man in there tired to chat with him but he did not chat back instead got out of hot tubs and went to pool. After a while I got in the pool floated around felt very uncomfortable since others just keep looking at us. I did talk to another gentleman. You could tell mostly full timers very clicke. Laundry could be cleaner, plus lots of them were not working Called the office to ask a question person answering phone did not k ow the answer said she would get back to us. Next day manager called and said if we read the paperwork she faves the answer was on the second page. Ouch. We had read it but it was a phone number to a propane company we were looking for and missed it in all the other numbers listed. Beautiful park but did not feel welcomed and staff not friendly. I really felt someone should have escorted us to our site. Most of the parks we stay at do this privately...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Desert Hot Springs and stayed at Caliente Springs Resort for four (4) weeks, 1/12-2/12/20 in one of the park models that are available to rent (pet friendly). The reason for our trip was to travel the area and look at properties in CA/AZ to return to later this year for the full winter season. The resort met and exceeded all of our expectations. The mineral spring pools/hot tubs, pickle ball courts...frankly all of the facilities were great. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, with suggestion's on local attractions to visit. The other resident's, permanent and visitors were all friendly and welcoming. The desert is out the gate and has more than enough terrain for all levels of hiking. It is a 55 and better resort and you can stay as busy as you want or enjoy plenty of down time in the mineral pools. Easy drives to Palm Springs, Borrego Springs, Joshua Tree Park,to many others to many to list, can keep you in "awe" of the desert and on the go. Our original plan was to head to AZ after our visit here to check out other places to spend our time, but after one week and seeing how much we both enjoyed it, we have already booked for next season for a full six (6) months in our motor home. So...if you want a place to enjoy yourselves, Caliente...
