My sister was on medicade so was not allowed physical therapy after a stroke. The head nurse decided she should be put on hospice to die, my sister didn't want to do it. She felt she still enjoyed her life even though dialysis was difficult. When 2 lumps were discovered in her breasts, no biopsy or testing has been done, even though she has had cancer in her thyroid. I have tried multiple times to have things in place to help with bed sore problems, as well as medical problems, but all I get are excuses. SOME of the staff are wonderful, but if they stick their necks out for you, they get fired. Theirs no dietician, so the menu is loaded with high carb, high sugar food, even for diabetic patients. The administrator in Desloge released my wife for "safety" reasons after he had to keep her from leaving the premises. I was told he could have/should have done things differently. Is this the way they treat people with mental issues? Is this the way they treat veterans? She served in the Marines for 24 years. One of the best facilites around. The staff is AMAZING. They have tons of activities for residents to enjoy and great entertainment for them as well.
