Webb's Sporting Goods — Local services in DeWitt

Went to Webb's with intentions of shooting a specific crossbow with plans on possibly purchasing one...Ravin R26X. I've purchased 9 crossbows since October of 2024. I still own 6 of them. My latest purchase being a Ravin R29X...for saddle hunting. I'm thinking about going to a R26X because it's shorter and lighter. The archery person in the store said "we don't shoot crossbows in the store because they are no longer new...but you can shoot any compound bow you want". The last time I was there the store OWNER pulled a guy from the gun department and told him to let me shoot whatever crossbow I want. By the time the person was able to get away from the gun counter, I had to leave. Webb's just lost a $2,000+ crossbow sale because I wasn't able too shoot it to see if I wanted to buy it. What is the actual store policy? Most archery shops let you shoot crossbows and compound bows...unfortunately there's a shortage of shops in my area that carry this bow. If Mack's had one, I would shoot it there. Mack's has no problem with a person coming in to shoot any bow. I've purchased rifles, broadheads, ammo, and other things from Webb's....

Webb's has transformed and upgraded over the decade that I've been a customer.

They offer ammo (when they can get it) and have a selection of firearms, both new and not-so-new, at prices that aren't unreasonable.

I usuly like this place. But they were extra rude this time. And clearly did not want to sell anything. The young brunette said they didn't have shad, and said the skipjack were $6 a piece😳 hiway robbery. Thank God i brought my net. Drove 25 miles out of the way to go get bait. Glad i did.
