I’m going to go ahead and give this hospital a new start since they merged and I had to come today for labs and had an awesome experience. Mercy is one of the top 25 in our country so I recommend everyone to give them a chance! Most staff will probably be the same, who knows. Maybe operations will be better, etc. Or better ER or Urgent Care doctors, also have to say people make mistakes we are human. However, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done staff wise in the emergency room from my last experience on 9/2022 and for my son sometime 8 or more months ago. I never thought as able to report the incident that happened to me because I left after going into a full blow panic attack, I seriously thought I was going to have a heart attack, pass out, jumping out of my skin, I went for postpartum rib pain, the nurse dropped my he syringes just about 3 times before giving me a drug called droperidol in my IV before they had run any tests or X-rays. I felt dizzy, elevated heart rate, I couldn’t send text messages to my husband on my phone because nothing I said made sense! I drove myself. I only went to ER because I was scared I had a serious issue, I tried to lay in the bed and wait for them to do a cat or X-ray scan can’t remember which, but this was southeast health not mercy. I added droperidol as a medication I’m allergic to to protect myself. The nurse didn’t ask my name or birthday, dropped all the syringes and gave me pain medication, and droperidol which she said was for the rib pain. I told her I was feeling funny and asked her what she gave me and she told me the name, and treated me like I was crazy, she never admitted to giving me the wrong drug and she was so hateful, I called her out on giving me the wrong med but I was having a panic attack so I had to get out of there and I drove home in the rain and my vision was so blurry it was horrible! The next visit was in 2023 for my son having high fever and really sick. They did not even so much as check his throat and asked me if I contacted the pediatrician. I responded he couldn’t get me in. He tells me, “it’s viral we can’t do anything”. Turned out a couple days later at his doctor it was strep which then caused 6th disease or scarlet fever rash and he needed antibiotics! Anyway I gave 5 stars because it’s a new company, and they deserve a chance! The phlebotomist was so sweet and got my lab order done super fast so I’m pleased so far! I do hope and pray they turn out better than southeast health of Stoddard health center. Or make necessary staffing changes or rules to protect against major med errors like the one I had ! Also another reason for 5 stars, is the pediatric care I receive from Cory Blocker he is the BEST pediatrician! He’s legit always right about issues going on with my toddler since he was born almost 2 years! So even stayed with southeast before the switch because of his...

So my mom shows up, gasping for air like she's auditioning for her final scene, and the staff at Dexter Mercy decided this was the perfect time… to do absolutely nothing. She sat there for over two hours while the walking wounded with mild cases of boredom got called back like they had reservations at a damn steakhouse.
Meanwhile, the front desk staff? Picture a group of DMV rejects playing nurse cosplay. One woman got called back immediately after checking in—must’ve had a paper cut. When my mom asked if they forgot about her (reasonable, since they already admitted to forgetting another poor soul), the nurse hit her with a death glare and snapped, “No, we’re trying to get everyone taken care of,” before walking off like she just won Employee of the Month in Hell.
And the desk witches? Oh, they were precious. When we decided to leave and go somewhere that didn’t confuse “ER” with “silent auction,” one of them mumbled, “Guess we’ll just go back and tell them then,” in the most passive-aggressive tone possible. Sorry to ruin your group gossip session, ladies.
We drove to Sikeston where they acted like professionals, gave my mom three breathing treatments, IV fluids, antibiotics, steroids—you know, medical care.
Dexter Mercy should lose the word “Mercy” from their name and replace it with “Malpractice Waiting Room.” Unless you’re showing up with a selfie ring light and an attitude, expect to be ignored.
If you value your life, avoid this place like it's a gas station...
Read moreWorst hospital I’ve been to, the staff is so rude like youre inconveniencing them by being there, they take their time while in the EMERGENCY ROOM, my boyfriend was throwing up all over the floor & the receptionist waited 30 minutes before saying she needed a different number for his guardian, then again he had glass in his hand from a window at work, she waited to get him in while blood was dripping on the floor & he was passing out, she didn’t get his information right, his paperwork said a complete different name, and they never even got all of the glass out of his hand, they soaked it & put glue on it, then again last night we were in there & he was in so much pain & she watched him throw up (all over the entire bathroom) in the bathroom & helped the next people that came in after, then anytime she needed something her attitude was the worst I’ve ever seen like aren’t you supposed to be professional ? Then the nurse stuck the needles in him so quick & so deep he said he felt it on his bone, she gave him numbing gel and she dropped it & put her finger in it & STILL gave it to him, all n all, wouldn’t go here if you need to seek medical attention, if you’re looking for a sour apple in her mid 30/40s you’re in...
