Beautiful Trail and falls. There are multiple falls in the area and Raymondskill Falls are the largest - the trail takes you to the top part first. Which is nice, but then from the lower part, you can really appreciate the beauty of the place. Nearby Hacker Falle are smaller but they have a small pond where people picnic and can get into the water. Closed comfortable shoes are highly recommended as you will be walking on a natural trail with rocks, roots and moderately steep in areas. It can be slippery. I was not familiar with the place and I found that there are no informational signs to explaining what you need to do - we found the trailhead easily, plenty of signs, but all parking facilities were closed. We ask a a park ranger- very helpful- and she explained that on holidays and weekends you need to park at the park entrance and take a free shuttle. That parking is rather small and might fill up and the last shuttle departs Raymondskill...
Read moreI've seen a few negative reviews and they are misleading or lacking info. This is a nice waterfall and worth the stop if you are in the vicinity or if you are heading to the Delaware Water Gap area. There is an upper falls that has a viewing platform (the photo of the falls from straight on). There is also an unmarked trail that takes you down to the lower falls (along the pathway to the lower parking lot). The lower falls is much nicer, in my opinion. You can also get in the water at the lower falls. The trail can be a little worn, but my 6 & 8 year olds make it with no issues. Of course, waterfalls are best viewed in the spring or early summer. Once you get into late June-September the water flow is reduced. For reference, on the two photos of the lower falls one was taken in the fall and the other was taken in May. If you are looking for other waterfalls around Ricketts Glen, Jim Thorpe, Delaware Water Gap, and NY check out my IG for photos:...
Read moreI was looking for places to visit this summer and came across this spot. Once I saw the pictures I just had to see for myself. I drove from NYC to see this amazing waterfall and it didn't disappoint. 1st its totally free to visit it has two parking areas which are also free. There's restrooms available on the top parking lot. There's very short trail to the 1st viweing platform which is the top of the waterfall. You'll see the 1st drop as the water cascade down the first drop. The walk to the 2nd viewing platform is a bit longer but in my opinion offers the best view of all. Once I reach i was in awe of how beautiful it was. There's one one trail that leads to the bottom but this one its longer and a bit steep. So brace yourself. You'll find smaller waterfalls as you make your way down to the river. Overall its the best waterfall I've been to so far. The 2+ hrs drive was definitely worth it....
