I just recently moved to Dixon. Needed to start internet service so i asked my neighbor who recommended DC computers. I called and spoke to Cliff, who was very nice. I explained i needed service especially for my 92 year old mother who likes to play spider solitaire on the computer. He chuckled and said she can play all day as the service is unlimited. I asked him how much will it cost me. He said 50 dollars a month. I told him that’s about right. I was paying 45 with xfinity. I told him I would like to start service. He was nice, set up an appointment for installation and when I told him my neighbor recommended him, he said he would give him one month free. I was excited. I told mom how people in Dixon are so nice. Installation was done, the technician left cables and stuff lying all over the place. I had to have my friend hide all the wires so i wouldn’t trip over them. Three weeks later, today actually I get an email with an invoice for 407.48 with no explanation what the bill is for. I called Cliff. I questioned the bill. He interrupted me and said he told me about all the charges, which we both know is not true. If he told me installation was 407 dollars, I would have never started the service. Xfinity rents the equipment a there are no charges for technician. Frankly I still don’t know what the charges are for, no breakdown on the invoice. I told him he never informed me of these charges, he implied that I may not be smart enough to have caught the explanation. I’m a business woman, this is a blatant lie. He never mentioned the extra charges. If he did, i wouldn’t have gone with him. I objected that he never said anything about charges in that amount. He said he doesn’t need customers like me and that he will shut my service off, after that he hung up on me. Within 15 minutes my service was shut off. Obviously this business is using deceptive practices. They don’t tell you upfront what it will cost you to get the service and later try to make you look stupid. By then you are using the service and probably pay to keep it. If you are thinking of doing business with them, be extremely careful as it could cost you a ton of extra money. Any businessman who behaves like this, insults you and hangs up on you is definitely not someone to do business with.
Update; The integrity of the owner is very poor. I presume they have phone monitoring service, recording conversations to protect themselves from liability, as most reputable businesses have. I vote let's listen to the recorded phone calls to prove what I said is correct, and let's see if what the OWNER claims is true. I am sure they will deny they have such system, but if they admitted to it, we could see who would prevail. Certainly not this owner. Unfortunately, he has no integrity, and his character must be flawed if he is so willing to alter the truth. But than what is he to do when I exposed his behavior online. It is unfortunate that people like this deal with the public, insulting them and feeling victorious. My motto is, the UNIVERSE WIL TAKE CARE of these unethical people and businesses. I on the other hand have excellent internet with Viasat, no cost for installation, no cost for equipment and 4x the speed for the same $90 DC computers offered to up my speed to. And no, I was not offered a lower cost, that is another fabrication. It amazes me how this owner can live with himself and the untruths he is claiming. I have to chuckle when the owner claims I was offered to disconnect the service and pay nothing, The service was disconnected immediately after he hung up on me and I was not told I did not owe anything. Read moreDC's price is right, but you get what you pay for. We live in the country and switched from Rise to DC and have regretted it each month or so when our internet goes out. You better hope your internet doesn't go down because they must only have 1 or 2 service people because they seem to get overwhelmed fast. Their most recent response, "Check our Facebook page for status." You know, the Facebook from the internet. The internet thats down and thats why I'm calling. Kind of like telling a mechanic your car won't start and having them tell you to drive it in so they can check it out. They are really nice people, and pricing is low, thus the 2 stars. After replacing and burying the cable we still had no internet. A technician came out and left us a new POE/LAN unit. This did the trick.
