This was our third stay at Brandywine, which speaks to how much we’ve enjoyed it in the past. For context, our first two visits were in the Highland cabin, which I still consider the best cabin I’ve ever stayed in. However, the Highland was booked this time, so we chose The 45.
First let me say, the 45 is spacious and beautifully decorated. While I personally prefer a more intimate space, this cabin would be ideal for families or multiple couples.
Unfortunately, this trip didn’t live up to our previous experiences. The day we arrived our neighbors were blasting their music. We reached out to the host, who responded quickly and kindly asked them to turn it down (and they did).
The biggest disappointment was discovering ongoing construction of a new cabin nearby. While it’s great to see the property expanding, it would have been helpful to know about the noise in advance. We booked this trip for rest and relaxation, hoping to enjoy the patio, the views, and watch the elk—something that wasn’t possible due to the constant construction noise and loud conversations from workers.
There were a few minor inconveniences that added to our frustration: The kitchen cookware is in need of an upgrade, only 1 single Keurig pod was stocked in the drawer, and the smoke detector went off repeatedly while cooking breakfast, even with the vent on and front door open.
In summary, while we still love Brandywine and have had wonderful stays in the past, this visit fell short of expectations. We’ll likely return—but next time, we’ll make sure the Highland is available and the construction...
Read moreWe stayed at the Forty Five in August and it was incredible! The host was amazing to work with and was very quick at responding. The property was immaculate and everything was stunning. The cabin itself had everything we needed and more- so much attention to detail in the decor made it feel so luxurious. Very comfy beds , lots of dishes to use , tons of seating areas , a little welcome gift - we didn’t want to leave!
We stayed at the Highland in October and it was UNREAL! The colours of the trees were perfect! The Highland was even nicer than we anticipated. The decor, the beds, the glass room… simply perfect. Everything about Brandywine Grove is a 10/10. Don’t just think about renting here- go book it!
We also stayed in the Treehouse this past week of May- I think it may be my new favourite cabin! Once again the attention to detail is 10/10. Amazing beds and everything you need in the kitchen. More towels than you need - lots of seating and well- it was perfect! Sitting out of the deck in the daybed listening to the sounds of nature was so peaceful. 100% suggest this cabin at Brandywine! There are so many fun things to do within 15 min so you will never have to worry...
Read more6 of us girls stayed in The Forty Five this past weekend (march 7-9)and it was perfect! The photos match what the house looks like in person. It was clean and the bedding was so comfortable. You can tell that the owner really cares about his properties, the attention to detail with designing and furnishings is beautiful. The heated floor on the lower level was perfection - who doesn't love a nice warm floor during the chilly months. The house is equipped with everything you need. We were greeted with a bottle of wine from a local winery and a personalized note. Us girls enjoyed a relaxing weekend, explored the cute little town of Sugarcreek, hit up some wineries and of course ended our evenings in the hot tub. We had a question prior to arriving and Jen was quick to get back to us. I also have to give huge kudos to the owners for making the check out process super easy! No long list of to do's before you head home like a lot of houses you rent out. Definitely want to return and have already...
