My first experience with Maria was as a bride's maid a couple of years ago. She made me feel beautiful.

I decided to begin coming to her more frequently as she seemed to know exactly how to make my clothes fit to my body, as I had lost a lot of weight, even when I wasn't sure what would be best for a specific garment.

Also, being 4'11", it's not easy to get clothes that were the right length either. Both weight loss AND being short - not easy unless you're a tailor :-)

No worries though. Any dress, pair of pants, straps, she would tend to every need.

So, naturally, when I was introduced to my now fiancé, I knew who to trust to hem the dress I would wear when I met him in person - a golden, long satin dress.

Andddd then he proposed!

The most significant dress of my life - the long, white gown, was destined for her hands. I truly mean that.

She was honored to personalize the dress. She hemmed it, took it in, accentuated my hips, and even made the straps thinner for me (being shorter, thinner straps accentuate my petite body more than the previous thickened strips. Having an open back, making the straps shorter and thinner made the back straps flop open a bit.

Not to worry. Part of the process. She handled it.

Then, my petite frame was accentuated perfectly, hips, shoulders, back, perfect.

Even the bustle was absolutely stunning and done with so much care - she sat with my sister on TWO occasions to make sure she knew exactly how to do it for my big day.

With a couple more things to perfect, especially with my anticipated additional weight loss, I went home for her to work her magic.

Except I didn't lose weight. I gained - wedding stress IS a thing (side note, CAKE IS NOT THE ANSWER!)

I got there, and she tried to zip. It wouldn't even close!!!

As you can imagine, I was devastated. What an absolute nightmare!!!

I asked her if I should start looking for another dress.

"No way! This dress is beautiful!!!" She couldn't believe I even thought of that.

Once again, and for the final time, she worked her magic, having me slightly nervous as she cut the lace and inner fabric of the dress to hug my new body.

I tried it on, and it zipped. I left that day, to return one last time.

Today, I tried it on, and I felt like a queen.

The dress embraced my curves with beauty. I'm ready to walk down the aisle!!!

She is a miracle worker.

Finding a seamstress was one of the most stressful parts of planning my wedding - there simply aren't as many reviews for tailors as there were for all the other vendors, and I was terrified of picking the wrong person for something as important as my wedding dress. For anyone in the same situation, your search can end here.

Scheduling and moving appointments is easy. Maria gives you her opinion, but also listens to what you want and comes up with solutions to deliver it. I really wanted my dress to "hug" me and accentuate all my curves and she absolutely delivered -when I picked up my dress, it was perfect...and that is when she truly went above and beyond.

A couple months after picking up my dress -and only 2 weeks before my wedding day-I tried it on again and realized, to my horror, that all the Insanity workouts had worked out and the dress was now too big! I had lost too much weight and, though the dress was still gorgeous, it was just not fitting like a glove as it had when I had my fittings. And this dress was designed to fit like a glove. I called Maria in a panic on Labor Day, not expecting a response, because she was closed. She called me back within an hour and said she would come in that day and that she could see me within the hour. She said that she was supposed to have the day off, but because she had customers calling her, she had to come in to be there for them. I went in and she repinned me (taking it in all the way down on both sides) and confirmed that she would be able to have it done in time for when I left - in 9 days! Incredible, because I know it was a busy, busy time - afterall, she had had to come in on a holiday she was getting so many calls from customers.

I went in the day before I left for my wedding and I was so relieved to slip into my dress and have that feeling of "this fits like a glove." It was imperative to me that I didn't look like my dress was wearing me and Maria made sure that wasn't the case. It was a dream come true on my wedding day when all the compliments were "that dress looks like it was made for you."

I got the dress taken in (twice), hemmed, cups put in, and a bustle put in and the pricing was very fair. You can trust Maria to make sure you feel like the bride of your dreams-and that peace of mind...

Elegant Tailor was amazing! I wanted one dress for my ceremony, and another one to change into for the reception. While shopping, I fell in love with two cocktail dresses that had the tops that I had been dreaming of, and then found two bridal skirt separates to go with them. So for both dresses I needed two separate pieces sewn together. The first tailor I went to told me it wasn't possible. I was discouraged but decided to try one other place. When I met with Maria her answer was "not a problem!" I felt such a sigh of relief! Aside from combining all the pieces, I also needed alterations to the hem lines, back lace, sleeves, waists, and sashes cups sewn in for both dresses. I was so worried because I was literally "frankensteining" my wedding dresses, and didn't have time to find others if it didn't work out. When I went to try them on I could not believe everything she accomplished! She created not one, but two dresses that were exactly what I had been dreaming of. They fit perfectly too, after the first fitting she only needed to make minor adjustments and they were ready to take home. Not only that, but she saved the bottom half of the two cocktail dresses and made them into skirts for me to wear on our honeymoon! For all the work she did, the price was also incredible. All night I felt so beautiful, and was so comfortable in both dresses because they fit like gloves. Everyone was shocked when I told them they were originally individual pieces.
