Riverbottom Butterflies — Local services in Draper

I am not even really sure how to start this so I guess I will give a little detail about what sent me to Riverbottom. My mother passed in 2020 and my niece was extremely close to her. My niece found out a few months ago that she is pregnant and was having a hard time because her Nanny will not get to be part of this journey in her life. This past Saturday she had her gender revel to find out what she was having. I wanted to do something extra special for her to remind her that her Nanny is always with her. Let me start by saying that I never even reached out to the guys until the Monday before and they were about to close for the day. I was not even sure this was something I could pull off with such short notice. I spoke with the owners brother who not only was beyond helpful but was also extremely kind. He recommended the white butterflies and explained their packages and how the butterflies arrive. He explained that the mass release come in a mesh little pop up. This was a bit of an issue since we did not want her to know what was in the package ahead of time. He told me not to worry that he and his brother (the owner) would figure it out for me. Y'all when I tell you that they went above and beyond! Mid week I got the idea to add a message and was not sure if they would be able to add it or not. We did have one small mix up with the tracking number which caused me to panic and reach out to them at 7am. He didn't even get upset with for contacting him so early. He actually called me on the phone and let me know that UPS was showing they had just been delivered. While on the phone he explained how to prep the butterflies and when to remove them from shipping box and how to keep them until the release. When it was till to open the shipping box to let them sit at room temp I got to see what they did to help me. Not only was it in a nice white box with my saying he even decorated it for me. My niece loved it and was so happy. These guys were so great and helped make this day extra special. I cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am that they helped me pull it off with such short notice but that they cared enough to help me make it so special for her.

These butterflies are beautiful and wonderful!

For 2 years I've a row the hospice company I work for has used them for our celebration of life event.

Last year we did a mass release with the painted ladies and white butterflies. The program went a little faster than I had anticipated so when I released the butterflies last year they were not quite alert. Which was fine because they landed on the residence at the Assisted Living. The residents loved the butterflies sitting on them before flying off into the sky.

This year we did an individual release. So the butterflies were placed in an envelope so individuals could release them one at a time at the same time. My chaplains love this so much better because it engaged those that came so much more.

In fact, it was such a huge success with the individual release, that we've decided to use them again next year. Even though butterflies isn't our theme. You can see the positive impression these beautiful butterflies make with our families.

Also, Michael was very patient with all my questions and walked me through the release both years.

On July 2 my daughter miscarried her second child,, while on a cruise and had to be rescued by the Coast Guard, they decided to do a memorial for the baby and I woke up Thursday morning with a vision in my head of releasing some white butterflies the very next day! Everybody told me it couldn’t be done and that it would take at least two weeks and I was really sad :( I called Millcreek Gardens. They were so kind and they told me to call Micheal Riverbottom Butterflies. He took my call immediately and said he could only do three white butterflies and the rest would be color and I said OK that’ll do! then he text me later Thursday evening and told me that he got it figured out and he’d have white ones by the morning, so on Friday afternoon I went and picked up my dozen live white butterflies! My daughter and her husband were so surprised and so touched and it was a perfect addition to our memorial. I am so grateful to Michael and his brother for helping us make our memorial extra special!
