I went to the Outer Banks on vacation 9/12 threw 9/19 with my family already owning 2 Harley's I was not really looking to purchase another but when I walked in to simply grab a few t-shirts and seen some of the inventory that they had I was taken back on my idea of not needing another Harley.. first stop was 9/12 as days went on my wife and I decided to head back to the dealership on 9/18 with friends that previously bought a bike at the beginning of the week I was only going to buy a t-shirt for a gift I forgot to pick up at the start of vacation as I am walking in this is where my best harley experience ever started holding the door is there #1 salesman Anthony with a great welcoming at this moment I was not even aware he was a salesman there as he says his hello and what brings you in this evening I jokingly say well I came to see what deal you can give me on a new bike as we are talking I let him know what I am intrested in but thinking at the same time I am not going to buy 1 as I just got my 2nd harley on 8/16 but 1 thing lead to another and the negotiations began this is where I was introduced to Kevin and he worked his magic after only a few minutes they had an offer on the table I was still not feeling the hype of another payment and my wife and I stepped outside to talk at this moment I was convinced I was leaving there without a bike but low and behold as I walk back in to give the sad news of leaving empty handed as they were already there past closing thinking I was not even getting the t-shirt I went in for they came back with a counter offer of basically what would it take on my end to walk out of there with a new bike I had only a few demands and thinking they would laugh in my face as I told them I was completely wrong they took my counter offer to there table and came back with great news everything I wanted I got these guys are like a genie in a bottle so after back and forth negotiations I finally have the deal of a lifetime and walk out of there with a 2020 road glide limited .. I also wanted a few add-ons done to the bike but being closed everyone else had done left so the next morning I show up and right away welcomed by Anthony and Kevin at the front desk I am then introduced to Eddie, Randy and Bill all 5 of these guys are friendly down to earth and wanting me to have the best experience in a Harkey shop I have ever had and they done just that as I picked out my pipes and hand grips and a few other odd and ends .. These guys were amazing and have made me a customer for years to come living in Pennsylvania I will make the trip there to buy my next 100 bikes if the wife allows it ... Thanks Outer Banks Harley and your awesome staff of Anthony, Kevin, Eddie,...
Read moreI cannot recommend this location enough! We arrived about half an hour before the store closed on a Friday evening, but Anthony and Mike were absolutely amazing and stuck around for almost 3 hours until the paperwork was complete for my new Sportster!
Anthony was very helpful and knowledgeable about the bikes in the shop and very patient when answering my questions about the different styles and which one would best suit my needs. His easy-going personality puts you at ease and makes you feel like you've been friends for years. Mike was the exact same way. He was able to scan through the possible lenders to find me the best interest rates possible. Mike answered all of the questions that I had about the paperwork in simple terms that I was able to understand, but he was never condescending with his explanations. Both of these employees have excellent communication skills and have a unique ability to make you feel like a part of the family minutes after meeting them!
They were both understanding and practical about the best option for getting my new Harley from OBX to Pennsylvania. (I considered having it delivered by the shop, but I wanted it that day instead of waiting 2-3 days!) When we decided that riding it home was the best option, Anthony helped us to find a helmet and clears to use for the 6-7 hour ride while Mike worked on completing the paperwork to get us back on the road as quickly as possible.
The whole time that we were at the shop, Anthony and Mike were friendly and interacted with our whole group-including my 4 year old niece. They treated her with kindness and respect and interacted with her as much as they did with the adults. They always included her and had snacks and conversations with her while the purchase was being finalized. We all truly enjoyed our experience on Friday night!!
This shop is extremely lucky to have these two employees representing Outer Banks Harley-Davidson. I will definitely be returning to this shop from PA anytime that I need an upgrade and recommending them to anyone who is looking for a quality buying...
Read moreLong story short as possible
I bought a nice Harley from a older gentleman. He had bought a brand new tire and had installed on the front end of the bike, and had receipts from outer banks Harley. Obx Harley had installed a rear tire on the front , and mounted it backwards. I rode the bike from obx (after buying it from the seller , he lived down there) to Chesapeake and noticed something was wrong with the front end. I took a closer look and noticed it was on backwards and it was a rear tire. I called obx harley and explained the situation. The gentleman on the phone was very polite amd said no problem, bring it in and we will fix it. I also am doing the cam chain tensioners on this bike and I don’t have the special tools to remove the tensioners. I took the plate along with the tire so they could just swap it over and remove the tensioners for me while I was there. After waiting about 40 mins the tech brought me the plate and then immediately said he forgot to put the oil pump plate on and he was glad he remembered (yea me too). So he had to go re do the job again and this time he claims it was all ok. I took it home and now I noticed he didn’t even put the snap rings back on the tensioners! I’m glad I caught it. I give them 2 stars instead of one because they were polite and nice Amd didn’t give me any issues returning/exchanging the tire (which they shouldn’t anyways). But do not , I repeat DO NOT come here for service. This could’ve and would’ve been an extremely costly mistake, from the tire being on backwards potentially causing a wreck, to the cam chain tensioners being improperly installed causing a catastrophic failure on my expensive motorcycle.
Pic is attached, see cam chain tensioner and the lack...
