Hutch's Tap Room — Local services in Dunbar Township

We had wanted to try Hutch's for some time now. We always heard good things about their food. I did love the atmosphere! The food was definitely not what we expected though. First, we ordered the cheese sticks which I've seen very good reviews on. We were sadly disappointed to find that they had no taste to them at all. They would have been delicious if there were some sort of seasoning in the breading. Maybe they just forgot the seasoning in that batch? My boyfriend got the 12 0z steak special, and his steak was good, although he ordered it medium and it was more rare. He didn't really mind too much and still ate it. He got a side of angel hair pasta with his steak, and myself and my daughter ordered the angel hair pasta meal. The marinara sauce for the sticks and pasta was very good!! The pasta though was the most overcooked I'd ever seen. It was so overcooked that the angel hair was just short little pieces of pasta instead of long like it should be. The consistency was more like a pasta soup, you probably wouldn't have even needed to chew it. I've never seen anything like that before anywhere, I was honestly surprised they would serve that. The rolls were ok, and the salad was too. The waitress was only on her first day, and she was very kind. I loved the random antiques they had in the restaurant too. I am hoping this was just an off day because I've heard so much good about Hutch's. Maybe we will try...

My first time at this restaurant and unfortunately I wasn’t impressed. It felt as if there wasn’t any heat on in the building, there were flickering light bulbs that were very distracting and there was a leak from the ceiling in 2 places with buckets on chairs catching the water. The atmosphere and decor is extremely eclectic, which isn’t a terrible thing. The service was acceptable. One meal was the Prime Rib special. It was cooked as ordered and was a very nice cut and size for the cost. The other meal was the fried cod dinner which came with a salad and one side, the baked potato was chosen. The hot crispy fish was placed on a cold plate which made it lukewarm when it came out. The fish was cooked well and was flaky. I ate half the meal and took the other half to go. However when I was packing up the potato to go I noticed a black hair in the dish under the potato. Needless to say I didn’t take it home with me. I also didn’t say anything to the server because I had already eaten half of the meal before it was noticed. As far as cost goes it is competitive with other similar...

Sad to say service and food quality and over all dining experience have gone from a 10 to a negative 5... We loved Hutch's and would go for family dinner at least twice a month.. Tonight my wife ordered chicken parm.. It didn't come with pasta and was a grilled (non breaded) chicken breast the meal was to come with a veggie and a salad wich she was not served at all.. We ordered 2 apps cheese sticks and perogie's the cheese sticks were the same great homemade blocks of cheese thankfully those didn't change. The perogies never came. My son ordered the fish sandwich and baked potato, the sandwich was blan the potato was a small microwaved spud with a Kraft single on it... I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich I could only get a Kraft single, fiesta blend shredded cheese or a slice of provolone cheese on it and a side of limp steak fries not waffle fries as advertised... I would want any feed back so I can correct the issues with my restaurant and servers.. PLEASE GO BACK TO THE WAY THINGS WERE...
