Rare Earth Bead & Crystal Shop — Local services in Durham

I am involved advocating for an older family member that brought a pearl necklace to be restrung here. After calling without response she was finally told that the employee she was looking for was fired. The owner of Rare Earth Bead said that he was not liable or able to help because some individuals working in this store are contract workers, so they take items home, & my family member should have signed a form informing her of this. When I enter a store where items are sold I also operate under the assumption the people behind the counter are part of the store. The employee JS changed her number and when my family member reached her apologized that she "lost her necklace" (a family heirloom) and that it has "never happened before". The most frustrating aspect of this may be David Sterling's response: that JS "has assured me she will make this right". An employee that you have let go for some reason you are now trusting has the capacity & means to make it right. What does that mean to you...

It is always a pleasure to visit at Rare Earth Beads. I have been coming here for years. It is always so clean and organized with the greatest selection of beads , findings, gems, tools and accessories and mostly, a wonderful, knowledgeable staff. And in, what I call my therapeutic bead box, I, and friends, have literally spent hours sifting thru a cornucopia of loose beads, which have been taken down and unstrung from their regular selections, so that we can fill small bags with a terrific mix of beads, for just $5.00 each. Absolutely love this shop! I've purchased several crystals from them. I trust the purity and sourcing of all of their items. The staff is always so knowledgeable and kind. I recently went in because I wanted a custom bracelet with crystals for each of the 7 main chakras. They have a huuuuge selection to choose from! I was able to pick out each bead that I wanted and even got to thread the bracelet myself! Amy (the jeweler) tied the knot on the bracelet for me and answered all of my questions.
