Weis Markets — Local services in Duryea

Great produce section and for canned goods they carry lower price brands as alternatives . Trying to get use to the long overdue remodeling but I like it. This store is close and very handy for many.Its small enough not to be overwhelming and big enough for a decent variety. Contrary to popular belief by corporate personnel, some people like the smaller stores. I want a store I can get into and out of quickly. If I have to waste 15 to20 minutes of my time hoofing it through miles of endless aisles to find 2 or 3 items for dinner I'm skipping your store!(shop rite and Wegmans) My time is valuable. 😊 thanks Weis for pink sticker products and the reduced baked good rack that help elderly and low income families enjoy a few more items...

Poor communication and staff lacking knowledge of how simple point of sale systems work have cost this store a customer.

Today I lost 40 minutes after a 13 hour shift because the staff at Weis in Duryea doesn't think to restart their registers after an update.

Sally, the cashier had never bothered to find out why the debit/credit reader wasn't working until 4 customers had not been able to complete their purchases.

Once it was my turn to try she advised me it would take 5 minutes to reboot the system. At least 15 minutes later the system was back online and this poorly run store received their last purchase from this fed up customer.

Buyers beware of the new beer/ wine part of store. Price on shelf was $19.59. Register charged us $24.59. When my husband told the woman cashier, she was very pleasant but said she had to get the manager. The manager was very rude and arrogant saying the sale has ended and it isn't their responsibility to change the sticker. Well it's apparently someone 's responsibility. He didn't want to give us the sale price until we asked for our money back. Horrible personality on this manager. Never again. Will go back to Redner's for...
