Elmbrook Golf Course — Local services in East Bay Township

I am writing this review following our annual family memorial golf outing. This was the fourth year we held it at Elmbrook… and our last. We will not be returning. While we've enjoyed this course in the past, our recent experience was overshadowed by the rude behavior of the staff.

From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the staff's attitude was less than welcoming. They were confrontational and unfriendly, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere for our group. To make matters worse, it felt as though we were being watched at every hole, as if they were waiting for us to make a wrong move. This behavior was not only unsettling, but also detracted from the spirit of camaraderie that this outing is meant to foster.

Given the significance of our event, we had hoped for a more supportive and accommodating environment. When we voiced our concerns, we were met with a disrespectful tone and not even a hint of an apology. It is disheartening to feel unwelcome at a venue we have enjoyed for years. Absolutely the worst golf course I’ve ever had the misfortune of visiting. The fairways were so poorly maintained that they resembled a hayfield more than a golf course. I lost count of the number of random holes and patches of dirt that nearly broke my clubs.

The greens? More like browns. They were so bumpy and uneven that putting felt like rolling a ball across a gravel road. It was impossible to get a clean shot!

To make matters worse, the staff was rude and unhelpful. When I asked for directions to the back nine, they seemed annoyed I was even asking. The rental carts were practically falling apart, sputtering and screeching like they hadn’t been serviced in years.

And don’t even get me started on the absurd pricing. Charging premium rates for what essentially feels like playing in someone’s backyard? It’s a joke. Avoid this place at all costs. There are better options...

We had our wedding at Elmbrook on 6/9/18 and it was a total success! We started the afternoon with a 9 hole scramble for guests that chose to participate and we had a blast! We held the ceremony on the grass in front of the clubhouse, the reception was on the deck. From first phone call to end of reception they handled EVERYTHING! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect, stress free day than Cindy, Rachel, Lori, Kyle and the rest of the staff provided for us. I showed up Saturday morning with boxes of bags for the golf outing and the reception and they took over, again, I did NOTHING! Beautiful setting, awesome staff and great food (taco bar!!!) made for a day nobody will forget.
