Oleson's Food Store — Local services in East Bay Township

My family has shopped at Oleson’s since they were on West Front. I believe in shopping local, but Oleson’s on Hammond has become a frustrating experience. The prices in the ads are NEVER keyed into cashier registers correctly and I always have price corrections on sale items. Today they had no cart wipes and I told someone and they looked like a deer in headlights! No response , like I will get one for your cart. When I asked about bakery items on sale, 4 individuals could NOT answer or offer a solution.. other than I guess the product is gone. What kind of customer service and training of employees is NOT happening here? The cashier was great after I produced the ad with the correct price and was very nice. The head cashier is always rude and seems to hate the job. Very good at offering excuses and customers are a bother. It’s time to manage and have an employee...

Let me start with I’m not a big fan of letting people either buy quarters or buy dollars with quarters, but I’m also not above doing so bc I saved up change to spend instead of taking from bill money. At 10:05 am Sunday May 5th, to the elderly impatient woman working the first register.... perhaps instead of sighing in an exaggerated way about me buying dollars from you with quarters, smile and make a joke you HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY HAVE ONLY QUARTERS AND MAKE AWKWARD JOKES WITH YOU ABOUT IT. Convenient quick and close. 06/02/24 Stop in real quick and as usual the shelves are fully stocked, the store is clean and there are plenty of employees running the store. This store is top notch & has been for many many years. 11/26/24 Stopped in after 8pm 2 grab some things quickly. Even though they are coming up on closing time all the employees are friendly & helpful & I have personally never felt rushed or felt like I was inconveniencing employees by coming in late. Being in customer service I also make sure not to come in 15 min b4 closing so there's that but that's my thing. Always have whats needed and always a fast shopping trip. Still 5 star after all...
