Luna Rafting — Local services in East Penn Township

We had reservations for our family of seven. When we pulled into the parking lot, it was thundering and we saw lightening. We got out of the car to see about a refund since we thought there was no way they would send us out into the river while it was lightening. The employee told us we could still go that it was rain or shine. I asked if he wouldn’t get into trouble for sending us out in lightening because they would be liable if something happened. He said we would sign waivers. I said we were not doing that and I wasn’t comfortable putting my kids into the river while it was lightening, so he told us no refund. I followed up with two emails asking for a refund due to the lightening, but they were ignored. This experience might be fine, but I would never recommend it due to the fact that they didn’t care about our safety. My family and I came up here for a weekend of fun and made reservations with Luna last night. Our plans changed and when we called to cancel the reservation we were told we would be charged the 50% deposit. NO WHERE on the site does it have a cancellation policy, or in the confirmation email OR when the person called did they mention anything about no refunds!!! Our card was supposedly charged "late" last night which is why they claim it would be too much for them to cancel. When my wife called to bring this up they compared making a reservation to buying concert tickets and only offered the deposit back in a gift certificate. The staff was not helpful. 5 star experience all around with Luna Rafting. After reserving everything, they sent a super detailed e-mail with what to bring, what not to bring, pack snacks, etc. All the questions rookies would have, were answered in the e-mail. They also sent a link with GPS coordinates to just click on for Google maps to take over, and it took us right to where we needed to be. The crew was on time and waiting for us, we loaded up in the van, then headed up river to the starting point. Great instructions prior to getting in the raft, and then we hopped in and took off. The guide knew the water very well: tried to point out the big rocks as best he could, knew when and where we could hop out for a swim, we just couldn't have asked for anything more.
