On Campus Housing at ICC — Local services in East Peoria

Was a student here for two years the apartments are in atrocious condition. Several rooms and outdoor hallways of building are full of black mold and cockroaches. The stairwells are an extremely poor condition. Cement stair treads are breaking in half former maintenance associate at the building fell through one in my building Later, on in my time there, another student fell through a different stair shed in a different stairwell. Several outside walls of building have exposed framing, and are clearly rotted. These buildings need to be condemned and shut down due to the severe health concerns. Per their contract agreements, they are allowed to move you into different sized rooms. However, the contract also stipulate That they must adjust your rent accordingly, when moving in at one time was put in a four bedroom when I had paid for a two bedroom when bringing this issue up with management was told to deal with it when requesting that they honor their contract was told if I escalate this farther I would be kicked out of housing if you choose to live here which most people have no choice document every single thing you can take photos of every single thing you can, as they will try to weasel every penny, they can out of you, whether by claim you didn’t pay for things you did or by giving you false charges students...

This place isn’t worth 100$ a month let alone 750$. The hot water works intermittently, the room looks like it has been used as a boxing ring and the kitchen and appliances are beat. They couldn’t even slap a fresh coat of paint on the building to make it look half decent. The place also has a wide assortment of bugs and other wildlife walking around such as raccoons that aren’t afraid of you and roaches. Overall If I had known that this place was going to be this bad I would not have gone to this school and would have chosen a different program. They mislead you when they take you on a tour by showing you the nicer apartments but then stick you in the far...

This place is anything but accommodating. Workers are never on time, and when they are present they are not friendly. Friend and I did laundry there and they locked our clothes in there over night without informing us this would happen. We went there early at 8 when they opened and not a single worker in sight.

We called the ON CALL RA multiple times and no answer... They then texted us to inform us that they were busy "putting their kids to bed". When you run a business you don't make excuses, in fact you accommodate.

My roomates and I have run into more than enough problems while living here, and nothing has been handled fairly. Might be time for...
