I don’t think there are enough words to explain how wonderful Creekside Gardens is. This place encompasses so many things bundled into fantastic gardens. You start off walking into a huge, beautiful gift shop that has 1000s of items from candles to wind chimes to waterfalls. Inside there is a huge work space for different event projects they host. Next, you'll find a garden greenhouse where at anytime you can find kids creating their very own terrariums. Plants and colors abound and the helpful staff is continually tending to their stock. This is where I met one of the owners who was more than happy to walk around with me.
There are events and workshops happening year round including: Pansy living wreath workshops, Earth Day Celebrations, Mother’s Day kids flower pot workshops, and even their 20th anniversary happening in May.
There are many other things that open in the spring that I must get back to explore including a beautiful butterfly house.

Read moreA gem. I travelled to Wilkes Barre via PA RT 29 on a personal matter. One of the dreariest of days here, and an exhausting day ... we stopped on our way home. We were greeted by one of the owners and her dog. Cheery and light was mood immediately, a far cry from the rest of the day. Wandering through the shop over to the greenhouse brought us face-to-face with a sleek black cat. No bad luck here, though. Gourds, air plants, succulents, and some not so common plants. Back to the gift shop I travelled... filled with sweets, plants, gift ideas for the coming holidays, chocolates, pickled items, loads of gemstones and ... well, it's a MUST stop, a destination, for sure. And a must return. Today being a bank holiday - and subsequently having to have to wait another day for my payroll - is the only thing that saved me from depleting my bank account. Don't delay. Steal a few moments and roll on over. W, R, F, Sa they open at 10, I believer. Sunday hours as well. They call them "Hours of Enjoyment" And I guarantee you, they will be that -...
Read moreWhen you stop by Creekside Gardens, plan to make it an event. There is SO MUCH TO SEE! Today I stopped by with my husband, two teenagers, and a three year old. My husband was busy checking out the vast array of vegetables for the garden and the teenagers wandered around looking at the nifty puzzles and doodads. I went there looking for a specific house plant I wanted for my office, which they OF COURSE had. The three year old was amazed by EVERYTHING...indoor water fall, toys, flowers, outdoor pond, and his favorite, Jasper the cat. Kevin and Sherri were both there seamlessly moving between working on the grounds and answering questions, but also graciously facilitating Jasper snuggles.
We left with two plants, a pot, a butterfly magnet, a pair of beautiful earrings, and a bag of bunnies. Who doesn't need a bag of bunnies when they are three.
