Lake Oconee Family Fitness — Local services in Eatonton

I have been coming to this gym for over three years and it gets worse year after year. It has undergone owner change and I was hoping things would improve but on the contrary they didn’t. Let me tell you some of the things that bother me:

Pricing has increased year after year. When I joined three years ago the individual monthly was $29 and now is $45. The individual yearly was $299 and now $499. With that increase you would have thought that came with numerous perks and state of the art equipment but no sadly some new paint on the walls and different flooring. Updated bathrooms!! Woohoo!! Except no hot water access. I just love washing my hands in ice cold water. I wonder if the showers have hot water. Maybe I should wash my hands in their showers. Not sure why the other reviews talk about how clean this place is when I’ve seen a cleaning crew clean this gym maybe twice in the three years I’ve been here. The people using the equipment do a better job cleaning it than the staff. Never understood the theme of this place. An interior designer would have a field day with this gym. Different color walls, different types of flooring and the brightest LED lights you’ll ever see. I can go on and on but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. I used this gym during the summer until I was moving to Kennesaw. After moving I realized I was still getting charged even after canceling my subscription, plus an additional enhancement fee. I tried calling multiple times and after no answer I had to make a claims through my bank. Just when I thought it was over, I was emailed the I owed $140 dollars. Instead of canceling my membership, I have somehow been added to a yearly membership that SOMEHOW didn’t start until August 27th even though I cancelled and moved two weeks before then. Gym seemingly has every machine you could think of to work out on and multiple bathrooms which is great. Pricing and cleanliness on the other hand are not so great. Prices recently went up to $39.99 for one person with a $30.99 charge tacked on once a year for cleaning which is not actually happening. The showers which I mostly used during my time there would routinely have the same trash, soap, dead insects, ect in the same locales. Recently entering with a friend and working out in the fitness room on two seperate days a few days apart, I noticed the same debris covering the floor.
