It was very nice that you didn’t need an appointment to get measured and look at suits which is why we ended up going to Muldoons! We had called elsewhere they told us no appointment needed and when we arrived the guys were turned away because of no appointment! At Muldoons, the service is great, knowledgeable and very friendly. The hours aren’t always very convenient if you’re trying to plan a wedding with people from out of town. The hours are about the same as any mens shop but being that it’s local, there isn’t an option to have suits shipped to another location for pickup. It’s local (love supporting local however we can) so there are less options for ties, pocket squares, socks, etc than a bigger store which is to be expected. We were looking for specific types of ties (slim with floral pattern) and they didn’t have what we were looking for so we ended up buying those online but they did have a good selection of what I would consider “work/everyday” ties to be worn with suits. What we were looking for may have been too specific. That being said, our entire wedding party was very pleased with their suits and the alterations provided. Muldoon's menswear has been in Eau Claire since the 1950s. This is a delightful old school shop run by the founder's son, John. I have been a customer here for over 45 years, as was my father and my grandfather. This is a place you can find EXCELLENT service, tailoring, hats, gloves, undergear, and Florsheim shoes. The shop accommodates nearly any size, and it is great to have a good selection of clothes if you are a big man plus the advantage of having your clothes tailored on site to fit perfectly. John has been in this business his entire life, knows you by name and has excellent salespeople working for him. You cannot beat the selection, great quality, and the prices are reasonable. You can find impossible to find items there as well. Where else can you go to find a complete menswear store, locally owned and with unmatched quality. Buying clothes online is fine, but nothing beats going to a place, trying it on, having it tailored to fit you perfectly and trust that the people who are assisting you really know their stuff. It's one of them creaky floor clothing stores from my childhood the smell of years of professional attitude towards their customers hits you first and foremost in your face the moment you step through the door!!! Like Abelman clothing in Bessemer Michigan, or Moore's on Main Ashland Wisconsin !!! Quality and service first , not big box store but when main street use to be the only choice !!!
