Newswanger is a perfect example of why sometimes supporting local business is a terrible idea. I had purchased a book shelf from them last week. Once I got it home, I was aware that Newswangers had put the shelf together incorrectly. The back panel wasn't properly aligned in any channel, the shelves were crooked and not flush against the walls of the bookcase, and the bookshelf sat unevenly. Glue was used to hold the book shelf together so I couldn't even disassemble the shelf. They did offer to "repair" the unit and I took them up on it. They called me back same day to explain they had "made it right". See the pictures attached. I also received $30 back for my "troubles". Unhappy with the result, they told me I could return it for a replacement while I wait 6-8 months for a new unit to arrive. Looking online, our local Home Depot has them as a delivery option for later this week. God forbid they replace my unit with this. Instead, I bought the unit from my local Home Depot for $15 dollars cheaper than their price. Be cautious if you use these grifters. Read moreI’ve purchased many pieces of furniture from Newswangers over the years. Recently I had a failure with my Lazy Boy recliner, I called the store to see what options were available for a replacement chair to buy, fully anticipating on buying a new 1. They informed me that the parts are a lifetime warranty and if they could find them they would be covered at no charge for the parts. They got the parts in a timely manner and replaced them the next day! Mind you this chair was purchased over 14yrs ago and they could’ve easily just brushed it off and told me parts aren’t available and sold me a new chair but they took the time to take care of the customer. I’m beyond happy and they were top notch from the initial call to the technician completing the repairs. It’s hard to find this kind of customer service these days but 1 things for sure…. I will never buy a piece of furniture from another company!! Thank...
