We have been to this drive-in several times. We appreciate what is being offered & we love going. The problem is that everyone else loves going too! When we went last weekend the line backed up on the main highway waiting to get in was the longest we have ever seen it & it took what seemed like forever to get in. We have also been turned away for the 2nd screen before due to it getting filled quickly. This time, the trucks kept squeezing in every possible inch they could & it was like a puzzle seeing how everyone could fit without hitting someone. The other screen still had room (different movie.) The patrons are varied & most are polite, but some will try to spread out & take more space than needed w/both their vehicles & by spreading out chairs beside instead of in front of their space. Some also kept their hatchbacks up all the way. At other drive-ins we have been to, they would come around & ask for them to be lowered even w/top of vehicle at the start of the movie which would have been nice since not every row went higher than the one before & not everyone has a jacked up pick-up. There was also various aromas of different types of things being smoked throughout the movie. Being outside, the cigarette smoke did carry & was pretty strong at times too. We love that they let you bring in your own food/drinks, and they do have a concession that is always packed as an option too. The bathroom reminds me of a typical "ballfield" bathroom, but it was clean & did not smell. It would be 5 stars if the hatchbacks & people spreading out beside their cars instead of in front of them were monitored & they were asked to be curtious of others. We will continue to go back once or twice a summer but will probably limit it to that to forgo the extra waiting, parking, & other people stress. I know we will enjoy when we do go, we will just be mentally prepared to deal with that stuff. It would be great if we could reserve a spot ahead of time like in the theaters, even if we had to still pay the per person fee; you could just buy the # of tickets you need for your...
Read moreScreen B is trash... Don't waste your time. Even the newer screen the screen has terrible lines and very unclear. I have been going here for many years and screen A is really good and the sound is good as well. Screen b the newer screen it's complete trash the projector is really dim and the sound has a lot of static? Not only my speaker, even the ones they rent. While at Screen B you see all the traffic Everyone is shining their lights at you. No one has etiquette it's like everyone has their brights on when they should be using their parking lights to drive through....... And then you have some inconsiderate people. They want to sit there with their car, running and lights on while watching the movie. Just ridiculous. I've had problems at this place before.Screen A is the only thing that's almost worth your time but with all the traffic in and out and people with their lights, makes you miss blockbuster, ha ha. Where you didn't have to worry about someone else ruining your night. My picture does not do this justice. It made it brighter the screen here on the B screen almost unbearable and then add that on top of the terrible sound of static trying to watch the movie the whole time. Tell people to run their parking lights, only stop using your bright lights to drive through in the middle of the movie. Terrible...
Read moreDrove all the way Lewisville to Eden NC just to go to the EDEN DRIVE INN. IF YOU HAVENT BEEN TO A DRIVE IN, it needs to be on your bucket list. In the 50s, 60s, 70s, it was a normal Fri/ Sat night thing to do. Somewhere that 'Fad' , just sorta disappeared. They shut down due to $$$ high cost of Hollywood to get the movies to they always ran second run movies. Most of which you could get on tv, HBO, and or rent from the store. There is something nostalgic about going to the drive inn. We usually take our 12 passenger van and load up teens that have never been. Arrive about 630, shows yes that means 2. They start at dark or about 900 pm. Second show about 11:00 pm. That will have you driving home about 1230. They have a concession stand drinks, pizza, hotdogs, hamburgers, French fries, great big dill pickles, milkshakes, ice cream, nachos w/ cheese and jalapenos, or w/out! Other various candies and treats......Oh lest we not forget the ultimate movie/theatre item....POP CORN!!!!!! All seem reasonably priced. Unlike a walk in theater. And there you only get 1 movie. We watched Jurassic World and Rampage in that order 1/2 hr break between movies! Hope to see you there next time. If you call the number(Google:Eden drivein) you can find out what movies...
